Demote? Heck no. I demand a ritual sacrifice. Nothing less than a firing, preferably with maximal humiliation will do. However, I expect this to occur midway through the season when it can cause maximal disruption and result in a 25 win season.

Biggest thing in favor of the Pacers was that their center can dunk and their coach actually calls plays to capitalize on it.
Did you just say "dunk"?
Hibbert has a hook shot, outstanding ability to catch in heavy traffic, excellent footwork and can finish with either hand. Their coach has absolutely nothing to do with his skill set. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zee-row.
Does Spolestra accept your generous credit for Lebron's skill set? Really?
Is Spolestra responsible for Bosh's disappearing act?
Capitalize on his ability to dunk?
Hibbert's ability to dunk is icing on the cake. His dominance inside gives Indiana a huge advantage on both ends.
Yes he has a very nice hook shot. And his coach actually makes use of his skills. If all you are gonna do is dance around the subject of Woody's D- coaching then suit yourself. Way to make this about Hibbert's hook shot.

Continuously throwing JR Smith out there hoping he will get hot. Not holding JR Smith accountable for off court BS. Never calling out his players for poor performances. I recalled Greg Popovich call out his entire starting lineup and benching them. Calling the same damn isolation plays again and again. Not having the Knicks prepared for playoff basketball. With that said he did have a very good regular season. I want to give Woodson another chance but to tell you guys the truth next year if the Knicks make the playoffs it will be more of the same. Now I know why Atlanta dumped him his team and system had peaked and I believe the same here because he is running Atlanta offense here.
I personally would move on and call Brian Shaw to coach the Knicks to get a new system in.
He doesn't deserve another chance. He has shown over and over in Atlanta that he is slow and stubborn. We are now seeing the exact thing repeat itself. He can't or won't learn. I think we should just can him. He is hopeless. But there are people who would wear "second in the east" as a badge of honor. To me it's about as important as being voted MVP or becoming scoring champ.
Whatever.
I could be wrong but I believe you never liked Woodson and you were calling for fans on this site to be
less euphoric when the Knicks went 18-6 after D'Antoni resigned. After winning the Atlantic, going to the second round of the playoffs he is supposed to be let go? The last 13 yeazs were a lot worse then this past one. Woodson won a lot more then he lost. He isn't and shouldn't be going anywhere.
Reading is Fundamental

loweyecue - way to trivialize the big man's dominance on both ends in the playoffs.
No, as you suggest...it is not about his hook shot.
If you have a valid point to counter the concepts of Hibbert's dominance, please share it.
How many point blank shots did Tyson Chandler miss?
How much were we outrebounded?
Trivialize?? When I openly acknowledged it?
You sure have a way with words.
The Pacers are far less talented than the Heat the two lopsided games prove that. How did they take the series to 7 games? Because they are greater than the sum of their parts as a Team and that only comes from coaching. Woodson did nothing to make us play team basketball. Whatever other red herrings you want to throw into the conversation doesn't take away from that.
Well the Pacers Heat series should be (but won't) be a backhand slap to the Woodson is an idiot because he didn't play Copeland the Hibbert stopper chorus. The Heat had the shooting to draw out Hibbert except that the rest of the team defends the perimeter well. What was the solution in the end? A good dose of rebounding and defense. The opposite of what MDA nuthuggers here were clamoring for.

Lopsided games don't prove crap. Especially 2. The pacers are known to be far less formidable on the road. That it went 7 games is the bigger marker. Otherwise our 2 lopsided wins vs the Heat prove we are far superior to the Heat.
Those who befallen have been measured, Weighed and found wanting.
Simple really.
Woodson sucks in the playoffs, winning just 2 series in 8 trips, getting swept 4 times..Not to mention having home court advantage..
Why in the world should I be gaga over that..he sucks badly when it matters the most

Please, don't goad him. He'll end up starting a "Retelling of Memorial Day" thread...
Del Negro, Lion Hollins *allowed to speak with other teams*, PJ Carlesimo, are all coaches that did well for the season but are looking to be replaced
Woodson philosophy does not work on both ends with flaws, he makes poor adjustments and rotations, did not put his players in a position to succeed, and did not prepare his team when he had the time to do so
In the Pacer's series we were unable to GET IN THE PAINT, of course we are to lose the series
We loss game 1 and loss game's 3 and 4, we needed to at least split the series in the first 4 games, and Vogul's comments were low blows against Woodson but they were 100% right
If our coach does not hold his own player's accountable, prepare his players while we were dominated on the boards and unable to get in the paint....
What is the point of the Head Coach's job?
His stubborness and willingness to play lineups that do not work, allowing JR and Melo to go 1v1, playing right in to the strength's of the Pacer's DEF deserves much criticism

You guys are too much. All he needs is to hire an assistant to coordinate the offense. He is too good a communicator and motivator to fire. Especially after leading us the season we had, despite how many feel about his choices during the playoffs. Also, of all the teams we could have lost to, I can't be mad at losing to Indian. You aren't going to beat teams that out-rebound you like them without a very, very potent offense which, we did/do not have.

You would not want to hear a "Nalodian" recant of how Starbury explains the origins of Memorial Day as only imagined by Nalod?
It would involve "Slaves, midgets, republicans, priests, Morman's, James Dolan, Nazi's, Larry Brown, bigots and a Rabbi"!
Naturally it would be amusing and even more offensive!
Nobody demotes a guy who was a head coach back to assistant and get a new hire as head coach.
He would always 2nd guess the the head coach or some of the players would develop loyalty towards the previous coach.

Your right. Except Herb Williams, but "Interm" was the key word there.

I thought he was not the "ears" but the all seeing "eye"!
The problem with Woody is that he has failed to help his teams in the playoffs. All those that keep bringing up 18-6 (which could be a damn fluke with a usually HOT Melo in April) that is just not paying attention to his entire playoff history and making too much of regular season success. Some coaches are great with bad players and can't handle superstars. Some coaches are technicians and others are part Psychiatrist. Woody is a guy that is able to manage today's players in a good way during the regular season, but he's totally weak when it comes to coming up with X's n O's when the going gets tough in a playoff series. Woody is like a Deer in headlights in the playoffs when it comes to using his roster, prepping his team and doing battle with a good head coach. Woody can't go head to head with other playoff caliber coaches!!! If he's got a team with equal talent he loses to better coaches. He almost got beat by Doc with a lesser team and he didn't use his talent to the best of its ability against Vogel and the Pacers. If i'm wrong go ahead and breakdown his great moves in the playoffs that demonstrated his coaching skill. Just cuz the Knicks won a game doesn't mean Woody did a great job.
