Whoa

Knicks appear close to acquiring Andrea Bargnani from Toronto, per source. NY offering Camby, Novak, 2 picks (1st rd/2nd rd).

I was just in Toronto and all they were talking about was Anthony Bennett 1st Canadian to be picked #1 overall in the NBA

Jmpasq @ 6/30/2013 6:11 PM
Trading away a 2018 1st round pick for a Bum typical Knicks
Clean @ 6/30/2013 6:11 PM
anyone know his contract? if he is signed for longer than novak and camby no way should we send picks.
StarksEwing1 @ 6/30/2013 6:12 PM
Knicks love to give up draft picks for bad contracts. Bargnani isnt a bad player but this team better at least get to ECF after a failure of GOING FOR IT Year 1
Jmpasq @ 6/30/2013 6:14 PM
The problem with this trade is i know Woodson will F up the rotations with him. U have to start him at PF but he wont. He will still keep Melo there and then we will have 2 overpaid Bigs sitting on the bench while under talented guards playing out of position will take the minutes

He is shorter then Novak actually which is a plus. Expires the same time everyone else does

We don't play rookies that much in NY, so we need to get back good players who help us do what we do.

loweyecue @ 6/30/2013 6:19 PM
Exactly how does Bargniani help us again?
MSG3 @ 6/30/2013 6:19 PM
My immediate reaction is that this is a good deal and a great deal if its not a 1st rounder going.

Bargnanis contract is the same as STATs I think. We shed Novaks awful deal and even if a first rounder in 2015 or 2016 Is involved it won't be a high one. And we'll be looking to sign free agents anyway.

I dont like letting go of picks, but getting rid of Novaks deal is huge. And Bargnani is a perfect stretch if he can find his stroke.

Clean @ 6/30/2013 6:20 PM
Raps been trying to unload bargs for 2 years. no way they get picks from us. Max pick I could be ok with is a protected 2nd since he clears off the cap with the big 3.

What do we do exactly? We have won 1 playoff round in 13 years. I mean i want this team to win so damn badly but we cant keep killing our cap or future with players that arent gonna get us to a title
EnySpree @ 6/30/2013 6:21 PM
My mind is blown......

big point.....Woodson might get fired if he can't make it work....

what this mean for Cope?

StarksEwing1 @ 6/30/2013 6:24 PM
The funny thing is that i bet Camby ends up playing 70 games next year and Novak finds his stroke again. Just our luck

Cope is gn he will get decent money from the pelicans or whtaver their names are now

We didn't have a healthy big last season who could drain a jumper and draw opposing bigs out of the paint. Hopefully Bargnani will be able to fill that role. Don't like giving up a first round pick either, but I'll worry about it in 2018.
playa2 @ 6/30/2013 6:27 PM
This is a good trade for the knicks if Barganni locks in defensively and goes after rebounds .

Stretch fours in the league are vanishing quickly, we have to keep our opponents bigs on the perimeter on defense. see Hibbert

agree. Not thrilled with giving a first but I agree.

loweyecue @ 6/30/2013 6:28 PM
If the above contract swaps were the extent of the deal, I'd be down. Losing a first-rounder for Bargnani would suck a lot, though. I don't even know which first-rounder that would be after all the previous trades-- probably like 2094. The Knicks should not have to surrender a first-rounder to grab Andrea Bargnani, but the Knicks just love surrendering first-rounders, I guess. It's their thing.

ROTFLMAO

OffDaMeterzzzz @ 6/30/2013 6:28 PM
If this report is true, when do we STOP giving up draft picks? The best players win the championships via draft or free agency.
