That's one way to look at it. The other way is that there are plenty of players making half of what Bargnani makes that are 10 times better than him.
Yes and if his deal was longer then 2 years no way Id want him but with all are money locked into those 2 years it doesnt matter see how that works right
Love the trade. For the knicksto make a big impact they need to buy low and roll the dice. Bargs is a really talented played and a secondary role will suit him well. Will fit well and create space for Melo amare chandler.. Whoever. I think this was good value with great upside. I agree. We werent getting anything from Novak or Camby. Plus this frees up a roster spot.
Novak is worthless keeping his deal on the 2015 cap space is pointless. He has no value to us this coming season. Felton does still however I would trade him in the 2014-15 trade deadline for a 2nd round pick to clear his salary for 2015-16 season

im not talking about his value, since the knicks made the choice to sign him to that contract. its the reaction that getting his contract off is good, which to me isnt that big of a deal in comparison to all the other bad contracts that still exist for ny. when 2015 rolls around, things may be better or worse and the ~4mill might be needed or it wont make any diff.

I think Bargs 20 minutes a night would be way better than the low impact minutes from novak and no camby we got last year- i just dont want to see too much of him- him and amare at low minutes and limited effective usage - would have a real chance to stay healthy and start a second half of career style for both of them-
But really the kool aid kicked in when i saw how upset djsu was- i know he watched bargs more than i've seen my own face and for him to be upset makes me think we had a small sensible improvement - which i think is the key to the knicks improving - not a radical trade tyson type move.

I see him as a fill in for Amar'e - which is needed in the short term. I don't see this as either the Knicks or Raptors losing this trade like everyone else in this thread... it's a lateral move. Gave up some marginal long term assets to marginally improve in the short term
