Hopefully this gives us the opportunity to substitute our slightly shittier contracts for Amare. Amare and picks for Bargnani and a trade exception makes more sense to me.
We might have to give up Shump as a late payment. You just never know with these knicks.

It was a logical move. Nets get KG and PP so we had to bring out the big guns and raise them a bargs. I wonder how the Nets will counter this move.

Fields and Bargs for Amare. We both shed bad contracts they all expire same time

At least you see the sense is not being in a rush to get him. You know he's available and the offers aren't that good and you've peaked Raps interest therefore wait to see what else transpires across the league and let market values be established.

As @ESPNSteinLine just noted, Knicks and Raps can revive Bargnani deal with NY including a minimum-salary player. Deal will still get done.

Perfect. For that, there shouldn't even be an exchange of picks. After all, the Raptors open up a much needed roster spot, while we add some 3rd stringers to flesh out the roster. That, alone, should be the incentive but we could add $1 million to grease the wheels somewhat BUT NO PICKS!

Reading this raptors forum is interesting. When the news first popped they were surprised they were the ones getting the picks. Now they are wondering what else they can get from the knicks since the trade needs to be restructured. They are actually thinking they can get Shump since his contract makes the numbers work. I would say they are crazy but then again anything can happen.
