Would suck to send Denver a pick for a player that bolted via opt out.
Its the knicks, its the NBA in the new CBA and it like the NFL, just seems like one has to take it year by year and see how it goes.
Stay competitive and hope the team is built to sustain a playoff run.
Supposedly this dinner took place within 24hrs after D-12 made his announcement official and Melo flew out there for dinner.
If he leaves make sure Woody and his, "get Melo the ball and move out the way" offense goes with him!
Who really cares. So we are a 6th seed instead of a five. The Knicks had the model to follow, they broke it, not suprisingly and are now in the same position as always. Not good enough to win a title, but good enough never to improve.

Perhaps LA plans to try an S & T (and doesn't care about keeping MDA).
So can I start getting my hopes up?
really.. best news I heard in months..

having a gigantic amount of cap space with Love, Rondo, Aldridge come up as free agents doesn't present the opportunity to improve?

My guess is Melo is trying to recruit Kobe to NY more than the other way around. Going to LA to play with Kobe for a year or two and having nothing else around him doesn't sound attractive at all. Wouldn't be surprised if Kobe leaves. LA has nothing to offer either player besides each other for a very short period of time.

Nyets will win the Atlantic divisin last yr.
Jeremy Lin Goes from league story to cant play/wont play at 85% to Knicks need Felton
This time of year, beat writers will be coming up with hypothetical situations and selling them as fact. Not believing anything they write that is credited to "a source."

martin do you honestly think that rondo will leave boston? seriously... And love and Aldridge will be traded IMO to destinations of their choice and resign.... the key is, how many teams will have cap space and a better situation in 2015..
cap space is great martin, but alone is not enough.. you need a combination of cap space, picks and preferably a young core to move forward with.. I mean every team with cap space can say the same thing you are saying.. cleveland will have a ton of cap space then as well, and they will have uncle drew as a major piece to showcase.. young piece... and picks..
I am not buying that the knicks are building towards 2015.. no way, no how.. nothing they are doing is giving me any indication that is what they are trying to do..

Lakers will have major cap space the yr prior to us having cap space...Nobody is signed but Nash. You think Lakers won't be able to sign anyone?
If it was what you're trying to portray..... then Melo being a true New York Boss would have told Kobe to fly his broke ankle arse out to New York not the other way around.

Being that it's SAS it has validity, remember he called Lebron going to South Beach. I believe he had inside info on Melo to New York too.
Kobe is not a master manipulater..who did he every recruit..
Look at how it turned out with howard..with his recent injury I dont see his impact being the same.

Saying the Lakers will make a run at Melo and Lebron isn't a huge stretch. Smith isn't saying either guy is going there.

Doesn't Melo have a home in LA..I think he spends his summers there..How do you know he flew out to have dinner with Kobe??..

So you are convinced that Melo will go to LA to team with Nash, broken Kobe and ...? And who? who else?

The indication that the Knicks will have room to re-tweak in 2015 is right in front of your face: cap space. If you don't want to see it, keep riding blind.
Also, please let me know how much cap space CLE has in 2015 and how many other teams will too. Reasonable expectation.
And yes I do think there is a possibility that Rondo leave, management has been trying to trade him and they keep butting heads. Armed with that, why do you think he will stay?
And Love, Aldridge just watch Howard leave for nothing, just like a lot of others; they can certainly do the same.

Not convinced but are the Lakers a "Clear And Present Danger"....yep surely they are
Some Restricted but most Unrestricted
Dirk
DeMarcus Cousins
Rudy Gay
Derrick Favors
Trevor Ariza
Larry Sanders
Thabo Sefelosha
Greivis Vasquez
Chris Bosh
Luke Ridnour
Eric Bledsoe
Ed Davis
Danny Granger
Luol Deng
Kyle Lowry
Paul Piece
Paul George
Avery Bradley
Zach Randolph
Jerryd Bayless
Evan Turner
Kris Humphries
Melo and Kobe only need a combination of 2 or 3 from this list, to be seriously relevant again

He never liked Howard...he was trying to use Howard to get what he wanted...He's managed to keep Gasol there and he got Bynum and Shaq traded and Mike Brown Fired. He got Nash to sign there.
