#Knicks added Metta World Peace, Hardaway, Jr., and Bargnani... Still working on stuff, too. Not sure why they're getting no respect, now.

MWP and Hardaway Jr were good pickups mostly because we didnt give up anything to get them and they can both help us. The jury is still out on Bargnani because he has to stay healthy and show effort.

Time out. Didn't most other teams draft in the first round too? Why are we patting the Knicks on the back for using a pick that they were forced by a LEAGUE RULE not to throw into some trade? Let's leave THJR out of the analysis, please.

I still think WAY too much has been made about AB's health. There are times in so many players careers where they just have bad luck with injury. A strained calf in the lockout shortened season and a wrist and then elbow injury last year is NOT INJURY PRONE evidence. Those things can happen to anyone. This is far removed from chronic knee injuries or a ruptured disc. Dude is healthy and when he's healthy he's put up good scoring numbers. What we need from AB is for him to improve his rebounding and help D.

How the Knicks compare to the other teams in the East is a tough thing to answer since the Nets are all new now and we have no evidence for how they'll work. The Bulls are a hard working team and they'll add back a superstar PG so it's easier to know that they should be much improved. With Rose they went 50 wins and 45 without. I just don't know that they're a lock to be better than the Knicks. This is just an assumption the media is making. The same thing for the Pacers. They are getting a lot of credit for how they did in the playoffs. It still remains to be seen if they can build on that performance of if it was just a brief peak of great play like all teams go thru at some point in a season. You can't be sure of those kinds of things until the teams prove it.

Im not patting them on the back. Im just talking about the actual draft selection. I hate the way the knicks trade picks away and usually end up regretting it

True but the Knicks have a lot to prove as well. Yes 54 wins is all good and dandy but we still didnt impress in the playoffs. I mean we almost blew a 3-0 series lead to a broken down boston team who was missing their best player. Then we got prtety much beat up by the Pacers who were missing Granger. I mean some fans seem afraid to ever be critical of the Knicks. We all love the Knicks but things arent 100% perfect otehrwise we would be champions lol

Based on the opinions of NBA professionals, 23 teams got a better player than the Knicks did in this draft.
Any opinion to the contrary needs to be proven on the court.

Once again did i say we won the draft? I said for the 24th pick i liked the selection thats all. Hardaway is probably a 2nd unit player at best

Which speaks to why if you are a 50+ win team it is hard to build through the draft,

The Point is that i hate the nets but they did a tremendous job this offseason and they are gonna be very tough IF they are somewhat healthy

who is this clown.

mwp is a volatile presence and you have to be concerned about his effect in the locker room. weird isiah/dolan-ish acquisition.

bargnani is yuck city geezus lets polish a turd why don't we.

knicks aren't winning 50 games next season lets get real. first round playoff spanking is a very real outcome.

That's the spirit - glad to have you on the bandwagon!

Talent wise, Knicks improved from last year. I don't like Bargnani, but after watching how allergic this team was to scoring in the playoffs, we can use a scoring punch off the bench. As much as I don't care for the guy, if he can take the Chris Copeland role, he will do it better.

Artest is a big gift to just be given off the waiver wire. The team looked great last year when Brewer was playing well and hitting his shot. I hope Metta can give us that, and the ability to switch with Melo and take some of the pounding inside is a definite perk. Sliding Shump back to the two is another little convenience.

I don't expect much from STAT, but another year, another chance to roll the dice and see if he can stay healthy. If he can, it's 100% bonus.

The rest of our core: Felton/JR/Melo/Tyson/Shump/Prigs/(hopefully)K-Mart have a year of chemistry under their belts.

Knicks fans tend to be bipolar...either we're over the top optimistic or borderline self-hating (and call it being a realist). Nets haven't done shit yet. Let's see them play together on the court before anointing them anything other than NY's second best.

Put it this way: Bargnani was the worst starter on a .400 team and the Lakers would rather pay MWP $8 mil to not be on the team.

And Copeland couldn't make it to the NBA until he turned 29 (around the peak age for most players) as a very end of the bench player, and yes, non-competing LA is paying MWP the same way Denver paid Chris Anderson, Washington paid Blatche, Philly paid Brand, and Houston paid Scola. Nothing to do with the $14M their saving with taxes in a down year.

I think its time to move on from the polish a turd line. Similar to its not Melo's fault when you use it in 2/3 or more of your posts it gets old really quick.

has anyone ever heard of mwp being a locker room problem. The only thing that seperates Garnett on court antics and MWP on court antics is the brawl. Yes, that was a big thing but that was a long time ago. I think MWP, does his thing at a lesser rate than KG who people respect.

When Isiah was coach/gm of the knicks he had a chance to acquire Ron. Not sure how real the Knicks chance of acquiring Ron was but he was the only troubled player Isiah stayed away from and he had coached him in Indiana. I believe I read that Isiah felt he couldn't control Ron and that when he coached him in INdy Ron used to lose control of his emotions and punch walls repeatedly. (my description is not doing this justice. I believe this behavior was described as scary and out of control). Isiah couldn't reach him. I may have read that Isiah was even scared of Ron but I don't remember if that is accurate. I know it was reported he felt he couldn't control him.
