I'd as he probably has better moves and a nice short jumper, but Chandler is outstanding in the pick and roll. It's extremely rare to push 70%fg in the nba.

Tyson Chandler is having nightmares of being chased by Roy Hibbert. But he stays the starter because he will work harder.

Chandler never shoots and does not use any post moves. When all your buckets are either dunks, putbacks and tip-ins you will shoot 70%.

Regular season coaching and Playoff coaching is entirely different. Regular season you arent seeing the same team over and over. You arent getting tons of preparation time for the same team. In the regular season you basically roll with your rotation and u win or lose.

I've been one of Chandler's bigger critics on this board recently but to be fair, he is great at the pick and roll for dunks and it is ultra-high %. My question is why they don't look for it more. I wonder what the average is of how many times Chandler executes this play per game -- what would you say, 2-3 times a game on average, if that? What's the deal with this? Why not look for this play 10X a game minimum? Is it a question of Chandler getting complacent, fading in and out of games, not making himself available for these plays at the rim more? Or is it more that defenses over compensate and adjust to it quickly, looking to take that play away? Or does it have to do with other players taking too many shots (Melo, JR Smith)? Remember Chandler did make a comment during the Pacer series hinting that he should get the ball more....What would you guys say is the key reason(s) we don't milk this high % play more with Chandler? I always thought that if we involved Chandler more in the offense, he'd play better/harder overall.

Lin utilized Tyson Chandler very much to open up other things for other players and it also increased Chandler's overall production in other area's as he felt involved in the game, raising his defensive abilities, rebounds, and focus in the game

They do look for it more than 10 times a game and it has opened up other things but if you look at Chandler numbers in the playoffs when teams have time to game plan for him his touches goes down regardless what team he played on. Also, the little nuances of getting a little more space by rolling wider than he usually does is not there. Despite all that the coach has to help the play out. In the Boston series the key should have been to start the PnR out higher, about 2 ft above the 3pt line because of the way Boston played the PnR. That's coaching.
Sidenote: I re-posted numbers on other bigs around the league and most of them had similar or better numbers than Tyson at the rim. Tyson is good but when his defense is not there his value drops tremendously.
I agree though that we should look at add a legit 7 foot center with size with all the Center's and size now on the East from
Noah/Boozer, Taj Gibson but at least they don't have the European over *Nikola Mirotic* coming over in addition to Derrick Rose coming back
Hibbert/West/Scola in addition to Paul George *and all of his all round skill's, versatility, and size /Granger *if healthy*
Lopez/KG/Blatche/Plumlee
Bynum/Varejo and Tristan Thompson/Tyler Zeller in addition to Irving and Anthony Bennet
Oden/Bosh/Birdman in addition to Lebron's and Wade's abilities

Healthy, NY already matches well with the size but another big would be nice for depth and injury purposes. If Tyson is back to Tyson the size is on Chicago level. Chicago size left with Asik but they always bring it on D with Boozer picking up the rear. If the numbers and reorts about Bargs post D are true him playing the 4 with Tyson backing him up should be ideal. His size,7'1, should continue to give most 4s problem in the post and high post areas. It should also keep him away from as many high PnR situations.
I still feel sorry for Horford having to play the 4 down in ATL. He would be a dominant 4 in this league with his all around game. I could see frustration leading him to wanting/forcing a trade next off-season.

Lin did not utilize Chandler or make Chandler a better player. Lin was matched with Jeffries and secondary players who deferred to his volume shooting while Carmelo was injured.
Lin did NOT raise Chandlers defensive abilities.
