Paul george from last season? WOW!! ok then if that is the case then why are we not building around shumpert like I suggested. I mean the pacers didn't do too bad with the real Paul George.. right?
Wow indeed.. I don't think it's ludicrous for Shump to reach a level a notch below George and a notch above Allen. George had a good season this season, but he still has room for a lot of improvement. For Shump to essentially become a Paul George from '12-'13 when he's figured it all out is nothing too crazy. He would be like a high end role player IMO (Shump that is).
The lack of development of young players is more of an organizational thing. It's not all on Woodson. Just want to make that clear. It's the same thing no matter who the coach is. It's Dolan

let me ask, suppose THJ turns out to be a decent player? want him gone? you want chandler gone? why? because he can't guard hibbert? no shame in that....
you keep saying he is cheap, you think he can be a poor mans wade... ok. lets go with that, then why not increase his role.. bye to bargnani, let carmelo walk, get a PG in here to help enhance shumperts game... I mean if 2015 is truly the goal, then we should be thinking much differently now...
tell shumpert if you truly think he can be an Allstar talent, we are going to make you a key player, starter, focal point.. we are going to let you be you... then you can truly assess him and decide where to go by 2015... trust me, on this current team, with this current set up, he is going to be underutilized and under developed...
Guys need to view Felton the same way. Like Tyson, he had to face a superior player at his position. Taller, bigger, more athletic....nothing to be ashamed of.
I hope we do keep Imam but, if we do lose him, I'd hope it would be some miracle move that got us Rhondo which isn't happening.
I don't understand why Woodson continued to play Kidd and Shumpert at SF. He should have worked on developing a cohesive lineup going into the playoffs. Prigioni should've started with Shumpert for ball movement and better perimeter D. He should have played Copeland with Melo more to stretch the floor and make Melos life easier. Instead we got Melo 1 on 5 perimeter chuckfest
We have Bargnani now to stretch the floor. Shump will be the odd man out because of age. Further stunting his development. He will play less than Felton prigioni udrih and JR

Well he did do that and Cope looked lost in the Boston series. Also, this Shump odd man off stuff is really overblown by you. Bargs or JR has nothing to do with Bargs minutes especially when you consider Amar'e will not be playing back to backs and he will be on a minute restriction. Kenyon and Tyson will probably play reduced minutes too.
I mean Bargs will space the floor for Melo and Amare now. Shumpert will be stuck behind a 4guard lineup.
THJ might not even play for Woodson

because woodson is a dummy and the team is a melo-ocracy. i agree 100% that prigioni should have been back there with shumpert.
honestly the only situation that works with carmelo anthony is the triangle offense but the knicks don't have the personnel for that.

Shump plays D so he will play and Amar'e has to be on the court. I think Bargs will be paired up with Tyson or K-mart, someone you plays good help D. SHump already spaces the floor and now will not be to tentative to take his man off the dribble. I think that is the real key and adjustment this year. Last year there where to many unwilling drivers and shooters. This year the players will attack hard close outs.
We had Shumpert shooting the 3 well last year Nd Woodson and Melo still didn't get him the ball enough. The. People cry that Melo doesn't have help

Maybe but Shump was also limited as just a spot shooter and occasional did other things. He shot attempts went up in the playoffs(8.3) and last year he shot the ball 9 times a game as a rookie discovering his role. Shumpert will get more FGAs and more touches especially if he has improved in the other areas of his game.
We disagree so it is what it is. I can't wait to see what will happen especially if the team stays relatively healthy coming oout of camp and throughout the season.

how is he doing that, If you didn't recall the the playoff game where shump scored 12 straight points to end the 3rd qtr bring us back, only to not see the ball again..I belive that was game 3 in the pacers series
Right we will see what happens when the games are played. I'm judging the team based on last years playoff performance and I will do the same next offseason. Hopefully I can have a more positive outlook. Until then I see the east getting drastically better and the Knicks marginally if not worst but I'm just guessing based on the offseason moves like everyone else until the games start

The context of the argument that Melo doesn't have help is when the Knicks are compared to Durant/Westbrook, KG/Pierce/Rondo, LeBron/Wade/Bosh.
Shump ain't close to any of those above.

Exactly my point. I saw someone say Shumpert need to do a better job of moving without the ball. What is the point if he's not getting the ball back from Melo and and JR. You would think the coach would've developed some cuts and back door plays during the meaningless 54win season so that when the playoffs started teams we'd be a little less predictable. Indy forced Melo and JR to chuck and they were both terribly inefficient. JR was worse. The offensive game plan was not good. You can ride Melo against the magic, bucks and bobcats. Not in a 7 game series vs the pacers heat and bulls

And neither is Bargnani and Artest which is a whole other argument and why I see the heat pacers bulls and Nyets being better
But 2015 there's light at the end of the tunnel

This may true martin, but what makes you think melo would change his game, from iso to team ball, even during the olympics he play the same way, he was just more efficient because he saw less double teams..Shump may not be on the level of WB/wade/rondo but he has the talent to avg 17ppg giving the attemps.
I like Bargnani but we still need a PG to run the offense

Well I watched the Olympics and they were very happy and used Anthony exactly how they wanted to use him. Anthony had a specific role with that team. He was supposed to score and rebound which he did. He wasn't iso-meloing out there. The ball DID NOT STICK with him during the Olympics. He would either catch and shoot on the wing or rebound and put it back up down low.
Let's try to keep it on Shump
