Shumpert has a chance to be a borderline all star in the making. He plays hard its his 3 rd year==give him some respect and keep any critiscm in house if there is a need. He should be the starting 2G and given more respect that he has from Woddy. I dont see Spoelestra or the Indiana coach bashing their players in the media. Why would he be doing this?
Pop does it, Phil used to.
Honestly I havent seen anything bad that Woody has said about Shump.
Is he still Rook?
Shump is a goner. My favorite Knick inexplicably traded again
not sure why shump is on the hot seat
Maybe this is what makes Shump ticks.

i know shump looked sad in that picture without his flat top,
let the kid be a kid, it's not like he was ignoring his duties,
not sure what's happening, not sure;
maybe shump will come out and bang em even harder this year, maybe it does make him tick?
Double Standard
If it was Jerry Sloan saying the same thing you would be calling it genius motivation. Stop it.
Mike Woodson can say whatever he wants to get results

When Woody gets the respect like Pop and Phil maybe we can respect that. Woody is not doing anything to up lift Shump. It's like they want him go elswhere. This will be a defining moment to show if Woody is just a puppet. Right now I have not seen anything from Woody. He let those kids play the other night looking like they had no game plan. No defense at all.
I don't know what Woodson said, don't know what he saw in camp either. I've said mostly positive things about Shump, but if there is anything I would like to see him do first is attack the rim or give up the ball faster when he doesn't have an open look. Be more decisive when it comes to taking it to the rim. Shump has an amazing first step but he has to pick up the pace to make the most of it.

Dolan want's to humble him. Drop him to his knees. I know one thing though there are a lot of fans on the fence with the Knicks and Brooklyn. (not me) but there are a lot of people who are sick and tired of Dolan and the games he plays. If he is not carefull Brooklyn just might over take the knicks in who owns New York. Just leave shump alone.

could be,
at the same time, i never got the impression that shump was jumping over his own head

there is a double standard but guys have a track record of success. Everyone knew Sloan was a bad ass. He would fight players. He got too old for that and Deron probably helped him realize that.
Woodson is just starting to build his rep....Atlanta he had his ways, and with the Knicks it seems like he's learned a few things along the way.
Shump in my opinion deserves nothing....injuries are excuses. He's in his third year...assessments have to be made and the Knicks can't afford to be playing games at this point. Shump must feel his mortality and show and prove because he has JR Smith that could could start fresh off injury and suspension with no problem. Hardaway is also breathing down his neck.....CDR could get him traded how bout that? No time for playing games....bring it

I see the Nat Robinson game of hate all over again. Shump have a swag about himself and they don't like that but it's OK for JR Smith to go out to the club and smoke pot get drunk and be hung over in games. Here what Metta World Peace had to say about Shump.
Shumpert does have an admirer in Metta World Peace, who said he’d never played alongside a player who defended the way he himself did — until Shumpert.
“We get along great. We have wars in practice. We probably foul each other the hardest out of anybody on the team,’’ Shumpert said. “But that’s how you get better. You compete, you go through contact, you push each other.
“We do everything hard. He’s a great teacher, a guy that’s been in the league for so long. Metta’s got a lot to say and he teaches me a lot because he says he can see a lot of himself in me.’’

I don't think so. If you were watching the 3 games you would see that a whole lot of blame should go around. Giving up over 100 points in average a game in preseason is not good and a lot of blame is going around. Hardaway Jr. has a lot to learn about defense. You don't put a bunch of young players out on the floor playing Boston and they don't know what the hell they are doing. And regarding Shump there are ways you can make a player step up. You don't try to mentally break him. Or break him in the press.

U are not there..U can't judge what a coach is doing with a player from your couch...So far, Woody has been dialing the right numbers, JR has been playing his best ever, Melo has been playing his best ever, Felton is in his best shape ever, Chandler grabbed 20 reb in three consecutive games after Woody tore him a new one... After 200 years in this league, someone finally told Chandler to work on his offense...Shump is shooting at a higher clip after his injury ..He has been working hard in the offseason after he hears there is competition for his job..Why mess with a good thing..Sit back and relax..Larry Brown, with Woodson at his side, rode Billups enough to make him one of the better players(PG)in this league..Billups now loves LB for it, he got it later along with a big contract..Bargs looks like he needs a kick in the pants, he is soft...Relax and watch the show..Leave it to the guys who knows the game..They are the pros..We are fans..

Imaginary Crusade
Stop it.
Vapid response.
Try bringing more substance nest time.
Mike Woodson has only made the young Shump work for prime minutes. Nothing is guaranteed. To make that a negative issue is a blatant double standard.
Coaches are not baby sitters. Playoff coaches are sometimes irritating, non-lovable, hot-headed, SOB's. Sometimes they run sprints for low turnovers.
The prime directive is simple.
You suck. You sit.
