Knicks · Woodson setting up keeping Chris Smith? (page 5)

Zero

This move runs counter to everything that competitive sports stands for.... it blatantly violates the idea that performance is the only thing that matters on the court.

This is an insult to the intelligence of even the most casual observer.

Steve Mills should be ashamed.

It sucks

Maybe this is why Grunfield was replaced....he wouldn't go along with this sort of stuff maybe?

CAA really has their paws deep into the Knicks arseholes.

There's only one way to cleanse ourselves of this scourge; Allow Melo to walk when he runs to free agency at the season's end. We'll free up a ton of money and also put ourselves in the lottery for the 2015 draft. With the dollar Anthony will be getting, we could get 2-3 players that will strengthen our roster. We need a change.

The change needs to start from the top. Dolan must go!

Grunfeld was replaced by Dolan's favorite flunkie, Steve Mills. That might be the smoking gun right there.

Never going to happen. Dolan needs to pay for the renovations, he needs Melo and CAA very badly. Unless maybe Melo has a brother the Lakers would pay the difference in what the two teams could offer....

He's the guy that brought Chris Smith into mix in the first place.

And in light of the Bucks coach saying they weren't even interested in JR, looks like we bargained against ourselves once again when we agreed to take on Chris Smith.

Doesn't surprise me. Its what we do.

Doubt it was his idea.

Steve Mills...lol.

Steve Mills doesn't matter here. This is all Dolan. Mills is just another puppet here to collect his paycheck, just like his previous stint.

Apparently in another thread they're saying that JR put out there (or his agent) that he and his brother were a package deal. We're all guessing here, but my guess is that Grunfeld was willing to accommodate JR at the time because he was having his best season as a pro. After he imploded in the playoffs, Grunfeld didn't believe that JR should get that kind of a perk. Dolan let Grunfeld finish JR's official deal, and then sent him packing.

VCoug @ 10/25/2013 5:56 PM
Let's just hope this doesn't have any longterm ramifications past this season.

sounds about right..It's such a no brainer as to how he made the team..

keep in mind we had no $ to sign anyone close to JR's talents, when you have that kind of leverage you can throw in any kind of perks you want.

JR's ugly face tattooed ugly to Chris' body... But seriously, does anyone get a little pissed just looking at CS? His wingspan looks short

you'd think their less talented cousin did that tattoo on Chris.

skeng @ 10/25/2013 6:37 PM
I mean come on

smackeddog @ 10/25/2013 6:41 PM
Woody just said in an interview that Chris will spend most of his time in d league. Also we'll keep eyes on Tyler- if he can't rehab with Knicks, they'll follow his rehab with the d league he's tied to.

Hopefully we sign him when he's recovered- likely Cole would get cut then. Sounds like Chris Smith is with us for the year (albeit in d league)

TeamBall @ 10/25/2013 7:17 PM
Kind of hoping Chris gets a healthy dose of boos if he plays tonight
