So our roster is:
PG- Felton, Bargs, Beno, Murray, C Smith
SG- Shump, JR, Hardaway Jr
SF- Melo, Metta (who some say is more of a PF at this point)
PF- Bargs, Amar'e, K-mart (all injury prone and 2 only capable of playing every other game in back to backs
C- Tyson, Alrich.
Our front court is a disaster waiting to happen, injury wise. Thank goodness we have 5 PG's though, maybe we can get one of the to stand on anothers shoulders and use them to back up Tyson...
Cutting Jeremy Tyler, and keeping Chris Freakin Smith, is an insult to Knicks fans worldwide

The only sliver of hope is that unusual contract of Chris Smiths, where he gets all of his salary if he just plays one game. Maybe the plan is to cut him once Tyler's foot is healed. I hope so- I was looking forward to seeing what Tyler could do.
Don't you dare give me hope again, you know they will smother it.
Phucking joke of a franchise....
CAA really has their paws deep into the Knicks arseholes.
Chris Smith is redundant, he showed NOTHING in pre season and he sucks
And that is being kind

It's so f'in ridiculous.
And the excuse that this scrub is gonna somehow elevate or keep JR in check is straight BS.
Watch Miami scoop Tyler up. Absolute garbage.
In amongst the disgust at this move I am really, really starting to worry about our front court and injuries. Someone offer me some reassurance!
Smackeddog - there is no justification for releasing a 6'10 with dives skills, over a less than mediocre (at best) position player with three guards ahead of him on the depth chart.
Cut JR Smith and his brother, and tell CAA to go fu@k themselves
Those Tyler highlights are bringing me down.
Chris Smith's contract becomes fully guaranteed if he is on the roster opening day according to reports. Don't look for him to last much past that time. He (and JR) get the $$$, Knicks get their roster spot back.
THis really depresses me.
You just know we're going to be hard hit by injuries to our bigs or backcourt with no one to turn to. Phucking built in excuse for mediocrity. Oh Amare is hurt, Bargs is fragile, Kmart washed up so we have no on to sub in on the bench. BOO PHucking HOO you had 3 PFs you let go in preseason.
A$sholes...
Very disconcerting these roster moves...

Thats what I'm hoping- maybe we could then sign Tyler (assuming no other team picks him up). But wouldn't that trigger an investigation by the nba? It would be clear as day what we were up to.

It's crazy- you look at our front court:
PF- Bargs, Amar'e, K-mart
C- Tyson, Aldrich.
and up until 2 days ago Woody was saying K-mart and Amar'e probably wouldn't even be ready to play at the start of the season.

Oh Smacked, why couldn't I be a die hard fan of another franchise.
You know injury is a foregone conclusion with our team...and at the position we're most weakest with!
We have more than enough depth at the backcourt, and low and behold...CHRIS SMITH to the rescue!
We should've been stockpiling Bigs like flashlights and candles during Hurricane Sandy...

Tyler is still on the mend, right? Even still I would assume many scouts/GMs saw him during the SL, so resigning him just seems like it would be tough.
repeat of what ChuckBuck said about our owner/FO being complete A$sholes.
Looks like the Knicks gave JR the happy ending he wanted to stay in NY.
I just noticed we got lucky JR's brother got injured last season. No way Cope would have gotten a roster spot over him. By the way, I will from now on call him Jr's brother. That is his value to the team so it only seems fitting.
GustavBahler wrote:Looks like the Knicks gave JR the happy ending he wanted to stay in NY.
And in light of the Bucks coach saying they weren't even interested in JR, looks like we bargained against ourselves once again when we agreed to take on Chris Smith.
Zero
Did Chris Smith make a single basket during preseason?
Zero
This move runs counter to everything that competitive sports stands for.... it blatantly violates the idea that performance is the only thing that matters on the court.
This is an insult to the intelligence of even the most casual observer.
Steve Mills should be ashamed.
It sucks
