Knicks · OT: Jeremy Lin (page 4)

I thought a lin/shumpert backcourt was a good fit... both pretty big guards, athletic, attacked the rim... heck you could even throw in THJ in that mix... lin in that dantoni offense got novak a lot of shots, I could see the same thing with THJ..
Just another bad move in a series of bad moves by this franchise.. It has taken its toll on me as a fan for sure..
HOW Would you know?.. you are a flip flopper..
Its not flip flopping, its just called observing. You know... like with you eyes. Open.

If Melo bought in he would still have gotten about 15-18 shots a game. But, Melo want 20 shots, which is the problem.
doug collins made an observation opening night that the paradigm for success is to have three players who are all playmakers. the problem with stoudemire and anthony and bargnani is that none of them are playmakers and so having a guy who is good at getting others involved like lin does is a waste. we saw that first hand when he was here and next thing you know he and his "ridiculous contract" were out of here.
I think Lin would have been matched if it weren't for the poison pill, same as Asik for Chicago. I thought his contract was ridiculous, you didn't? You thought Lin was out cause of Melo?
Lots of teams sign, don't sign, match or dont for financial reason. Just look at Harden too.
I dont think it was Melo, that just doesnt make sense. But someone's pride was stung, but this move has clearly hurt the Knicks moving forward.
Tyson sprained his knee and that could linger for months. We are a Melo shoulder injury away from being the worst team in the league and we have no draft pick in an incredible draft. The sky may not be falling yet but damn if the clouds arent gathering

Would have accepted that if the Woody and Dolan did not say that would match up to a billion dollars. Plus, we were not in the same boat as Chicago. It would not have mattered for the length of the contract. We were capped anyways.

What is making sense about MSG circus?
Melo was on Olympicks team and he knows how he looks when attension is shifted away.
He became usefull role player. He will do whatever it takes to avoid even a possibility of this to happened.
And Dolan need things to go his way not the way fans and media wont.
If fans like some player he is automatically a gonner.

plus chicago had bigs. Noah and Gibson. we were thin at PG, remember not long ago, we were praying for a washed up baron davis to save our back court... then we get blessed with LIn and we blow it... just tired of the way we do business... not buying this MSG BS an longer... stopped long ago..

I can see that. Most definitely the reason for him not being match IMHO

Chicago had their own Lin situation that Summer with Asik.

Yup. Plus Morey has been on record that he thought he poison pill was only going to work with Chicago. He actually thought we would match and it was just a long shot.

I brought up the Chicago Asik example as another organization that thought the poison pill would be too much.

I think they would. McHale is not a Lin fan. Also, the twin towers is not working. It works when they are not playing together since they have a 1-2 punch in the center spot but against very good teams like the clippers Asik and Dwight are exposed when playing together and Dwight has to check the PF. Bargs has been a Morey target for awhile. They think he is the perfect stretch 4 and Dwight can cover his liabilities defensively. I think it makes too much sense to happen.

Contract was ridiculous to Chicago but not to us. It would have affected their cap situation dramatically. It would not have affected our cap situation at all.

Morey would laugh his head off. They've got bigger aspirations than Bargnani, c'mon. You've got the two best players coming back in that four-player trade. No one wants Bargnani and no one wants Felton. The Lin ship sailed long time ago. We screwed that one up big time.

I beg to differ. The luxury tax would have been like $25M EXTRA or something as ridiculous for NY if they kept Lin. Luxury tax much smaller for Chicago for same poison pill.
