I think his mediocrity as a coach can give someone that impression. If he keeps this up, I expect to see him fired midseason. Truth be told, I think that the search to find his replacement started the day that Grunwald was relieved of his position.

He served his purpose. We were a mediocre team and he made us a 2nd round caliber team. The onus is now on us to find the kind of coach that can take a middling playoff team and turn them into a legitimate contender. Woodson is and never was the kind of coach that possessed the basketball acumen to be that guy. The problem is that there are not any options available that has a championship pedigree. I like Stan Van Gundy but he'd be more of a lateral move. I'm hoping that Rick Carlisle shakes free from Dallas because I think he's that caliber of coach.
Woodson knows if we loose a few more games. He is gone. You can see it coming a mile away.

coaches get fired a week after signing contracts, nothing new in sports, what the pay larry brown..$40 mill, and then try to battle him in court and loss..
with just 4 additional players added to the roster anda full training camp woods looks completely confused
BUT now MDA, who had to deal with a flip roster every 90 days for 3 yrs, now is considered to be a bad coach..
I guess were waiting on JR to save us, him or his brother, i wouldn't be shock to see little chris in uniform when jr returns from suspension

That's a touch one with a roster this flawed but regardless Woodson will be fired if the high paying fans keep booing them off the court

Woody isn't using players for their strengths. Felton can't run any offense except PnR, which we don't even run anymore. Bargs was a top PnP player and we don't use him that way!!! Melo is also very efficient on PnR or off screens and we don't use him that way enough. We guys that are great at finishing off PnR like KMart and Tyson and we don't run enough of that with out best PnR PG who is Prigs.
Woodson is proving that he was not some amazing tactician. Having a Hot Melo and JR is what covered up the fact that Woodson is a very bad offensive coach. My problem is that none of the plays Woodson runs are designed to score the ball efficiently. There's not enough movement designed to make the defense move and create space for your scorers. They Knicks spend so much time just aimlessly passing and moving with a lack of fluidity. This is just brutal BB. Even if you started the game with Bargs on the bench, the problem is that on offense the team is LOST.

I see a lot of perimeter shots. Lots of 3's and long 2's and not enough attacking the basket and FT's.

Woody isn't getting canned. His security blanket is coming this weekend. Things will get back to normal once Woody has his other ISO King. I also get the idea that Woody might go back to the small lineup. It's highly doubtful that this poor play will continue much longer once he has JR back and sooner or later Melo will get hot and there you go. still won't change the fact that Woodson is not a great coach.
If they had someone on the bench they felt could take over, Woodson might have to worry. Most NBA coaches won't take over for another coach during the season unless they're already on the team. If Mills says "Mike, meet your new assistant....." then I would start worrying.
