I hope this happens. Not for all the right reasons but hear me out
Faried can really develop into a Rodman type player here. There is a huge need for what he brings and he will get a ton of minutes because he brings things nobody else on the roster does. If he doesnt start he will get 30 minutes a game and I predict with those minutes he will average 10ppg on 55% shooting and 15 rebounds. He's not a shot blocker but he's a shot challenger, and he gets a lot of blocks in traffic when guys are trying putbacks etc... High energy guy, he's young and he plays full speed.
The wrong reason is simply JR Smith. Woody and MSG are commited to him. Everyone on this board knows Shump should be the starting SG and we should be calling plays for him and developing him. Knicks dont do that and clearly have no intention to do so, so might as well trade him for someone who will grow here.
What's the point? We don't run.

we cant start Bargs/Melo at the 4/5. There is no huslte, speed, energy, rebounding is weak.
This would be a good lineup (while Chandler is out)
C Bargs
F Faried
F Melo
G JR
G Felton/Prigs
So are we witnessing the return of a rich man's Balkman?
Hope JR's knees hold up. Is use of medicinal weed in international airspace NBA approved?
you should be happy.. shump will never develop here.. Faried is a better player and as I stated before I thought the nuggets would laugh at such a deal. If I am wrong and they make this deal, I will be happy to be wrong as faried gives us something we need.. points in paint and rebounding... along with athleticism on the front line..
the problem I see here is denver wanting a pick along with shumpert.. even if it is a second round pick..

Personally I hope the next to go is Felton. Im done with him. Would love to see JR go but its more likely the Knicks waive Hardaway to sign JR's dad than actually trading him
We do need a rebounder. The problem is due to his offensive short comings you can't play him next to Chandler or K-Mart. So that means playing him next to Bargs or Amar'e- neither of whom plays any defense either. So that would mean you'd have to choose between no offense or no defense- it ain't a recipe for success...
totally disagree. Faried gets assists on kick outs. If you want to run out Melo and JR and let them shoot it 45 times a night (not an exageration) the way you make that work is surround them by blue collar guys who vaccuum up rebounds, make hustle plays, set picks... etc etc
JRod... Faried isnt Balkman. Balkman was crap. Faried was Dennis Rodman in college. I think his last three years he averaged over 13rpg 15ppg. He's a hustle player but he is NOT unskilled. He's a perfect fit. I just wonder how many draft picks it will take

If faried gets traded to the Knicks, his espn player ranking goes from 47 to the 75-100 range right away.

this is what i wanted. it makes it hard to be a fan of this team. when Lin/Shump/Melo/Tyson first played for Woodson they went 5-0 and beat Indiana twice. Paul George was only just coming into his own and Lance Stephenson was coming off the bench, a promising young player. Since? Lin and Shump let go and traded because the owner doesn't like the way they acted off court and the Knicks are struggling. Indiana develops their young guys and look like the best team in the league, with a real chance to beat the Heat. Not saying the Knicks would beat the Heat, but Lin/Shump would be a lot of fun and far better than Felton/JR.

yea.... and replaced by a total clown who acts like a junior in high school
Love Shump but Faried would be a very good addition and a Bargs/Faried/Melo lineup would actually fit.
Shump probably knew he was gone when he showed loyalty to Lin.
How many 1st round picks is Denver milking us for this time? You know they are not stupid. They know they are dealing with the Knicks

Oh yes, they would be alot of fun to watch especially in suits during the playoffs. Or for most of the last two seasons.
A Bargs/Melo/Faried line up is also called the leaking sieve line up....scary thought

Picks picks picks. What could we possibly have left? 2018? We could all be underground by then.
My main concern is if JR goes down, THJr hits the rookie wall, then what? A whole season watching Ray and Pablo get torched in the 1st quarter of every game?
Now starting, Toure Murray? BENNNN-OHHHH?

Lin and Shump in suits would be more effective in the playoffs than JR. So I agree with you there.
started reading the reports. Denver wants picks also. I say hell no.
I hope bargnani tears his ACL, Tyson is declared done for ther year, Amare officially retires, Melo walks for nothing, And Kevin Love publicly says he has no interest in coming to NY, FUCK dolan and this organization, How many times are we gonna fuck ourselves over?

This
Does Faried really provide that much more than a combination of MWP & Kenyon Martin?
Honestly its a players league....If players were to stand up for eachtother more specifically knicks players, this wouldnt happen. If melo said dolan needs to let the GM and coaches do their job, Whats he gonna do? trade him?
If "superstars" publicly said I cant see myself being apart of that organization
(i.e Manny Ramirez declaring his whole career I will nevr be a yankee, and kill them game after game) that would really make management take a good look in the mirror
