This probably helps us, but makes us even more married to JR.

Straight up trade between the two teams make no sense for the Knicks.

makes perfect sense. Knicks dont have a real PF on the roster. They have broken old guys. Shump is not a 3, he's a 2. We are commited to JR Smith there. Fills big need for both teams. Knicks would be a much better team with Faried starting at PF and Melo at the 3

How much sense does faried really make when chandler comes back? Seems like you either commit to Melo at the 4 or start bargnani with Melo at the 3.

as I said before, they would want more than just shumpert.. faried is the better player at this point..

This has nothing to do with who is better Denver knows that they can fleece the Knicks. They have done it before so they know.

WELL, that too.....

Don't think you can edit thread titles, can you?

Martin or someone edited the title, orginally it just said "Shump is gone".. That was probably a bit premature but after 140 replies it is clear that it was something worth bringing up. Especially as it is a real possibility

Given that most of the board likes Shump and also Faried - is there another way to get Faried without giving up Shump? I personally can't understand how JR is valued more then Shump - especially when age, salaries and consistency are taken into account? These might not be realistic, but are the closest I could dream up...

Hardaway Jr, future 2nd and Beno for Faried and Q.Miller

Metta, Hardaway Jr, future 2nd and JR Smith for W.Chandler and Faried

Felton, Hardaway Jr, future 2nd and Beno for Faried and A.Miller

Smith is a needed second scorer

Shump catches heat for not being a reliable scorer, and his point average is low. Anyone else realize this could be mostly due to the fact that there are zero plays run for him. His points only come off turnovers, the occasional fast break, and second chances. Every possession his job is to run to the corner and is stuck watching other guys dribble around. I'm surprised they don't have him running around, causing screens and freeing himself up for more looks.
