EnySpree @ 11/18/2013 8:15 AM
Victor Faverani is really good too so I would like us to get him in a deal but that's greedy.
arkrud @ 11/18/2013 8:18 AM
Rondo-Shrump deal resurrected?
EnySpree @ 11/18/2013 8:34 AM
Humphies and Wallace are effort players. Two vets that have Proven they can produce if given minutes. Nice lateral trade. You can start Melo and Hump with Bargs for now. Metta and Wallace of the bench. Keep Melos minutes down. Now we would need a pg and you have just retooled your team.

Wallace and Hump basically split Amar'e deal. Wallace had 3 years left I believe but Hump is a free agent after this year. Give and take... Knicks would still have nice flexibility in 2015. Wallace is still a quality player.

sealy @ 11/18/2013 9:03 AM
And the vicious cycle continues. I'm sure we will toss in some picks (from like 2018) as soon as Dolan feels them pulling back on the trade.

This trade isn't getting us to the ECF, so I say no thanks.

CrushAlot @ 11/18/2013 9:07 AM
That deal fixes a lot.
Silverfuel @ 11/18/2013 9:10 AM
If we can get a PG then fine but otherwise, lets just let Amare expire.
Andrew @ 11/18/2013 9:15 AM
Wait.....

Getting out from under Stoudemire's deal has good parts, but it's only partially guaranteed for next season.

Partially guaranteed?

jrodmc @ 11/18/2013 9:20 AM
Hump and Wallace? I'd trade Stat for a sixteenth round NFL draft pick at this point, expiring contract or no.

Pay half his salary, just get rid of his can't make a layup azz now. We've been kind and understanding for long enough.

Yeah... if they move Shump for Dragic or even one of the Sactown point guards. All lateral moves but we get guys that help the team this year and still gives us options down the road.

Yeah man I never heard that before.

A Celtic blog said amare can choose to end the deal next year/players option. I don't think amare is giving up 23 mil to negotiate his next deal.

fishmike @ 11/18/2013 9:30 AM
no way we get Hump. It would be Gerald Wallace (3 more years) and courtney Lee (3 more years) so your paying those guys $16mm a year after Amare would have expired. This is the ONLY reason Celtics do this and it understandable. It gets them out of having to pay a couple role players $16mm 2 years from now. The other option is Jeff Green who also has 2 more years after this one

Amare/Shump for Lee/Wallace/Rondo works.

We would have to add a roster spot.

gunsnewing @ 11/18/2013 9:35 AM
So Gerald Wallace and Artest. Gerald Wallace is actually younger and better at this point

Maybe trade Artest

Hate to call you out, but that's a fool's perspective. Wallace and Lee's deals are fully guaranteed until 2015/2016. Boston is looking to rebuild, and doing it the right way and keeping the fans engaged. In 2015/16, this deal would leave them with a team option for Jeff Green and 2 team options on Olynyck and Sullinger, and that's all. They are trying to handcuff us in the future for a short term patch up. Unless Rondo is involved, we can not take these contracts.

smackeddog @ 11/18/2013 9:37 AM
I hate humphries- he has a face I just want to punch! Wallace is beyond done. You end up taking on salary and screwing 2015 just to get rid of amare?! We ain't winning much by adding marginal back ups like humphries and Wallace so why ruin 2015 just for mediocrity at best? Oh wait a minute, that's the kind if trade we love to make!
gunsnewing @ 11/18/2013 9:39 AM
This is the kinda deal the Knicks would make. It would foil the 2015 plan but the Knicks get rondo and keep people in the seats. Eventuality rondo won't be effective for a while. Heck as a pg he might not be effective til next year

Explain to me from the wizened, afficianado's perspective exactly what we're getting out of Stat this season of any other? Were you someone who enjoyed the Eddy Curry debacle?

You're so sure tanking and lottery picks are the way to go to the Finals? That argument goes nowhere but in circles.

And exactly how is watching Stat missing open layups and sitting out half the season on IR "keeping the fans engaged"? Engaged in what, winning the salary cap metric fantasy league?

Ha, but we don't have an effective PG anyways so it wouldn't make any difference in that regard!

Delicious....Knicks would be good to go and make a decent playoff push.

Just can't see this happening unless the Celtics know Rondo is done for the year or some shit
