The Knicks backcourt, focusing at lead guard, is
overmatched. There may not be a single NBA team that either Raymond Felton, Beno Udrih or Pablo Prigioni can impose their presence offensively or defensively.
This seems to be a theme we hit on nightly, but once again the Knicks had a tough time stopping the opposing point guard. Damian Lillard had 23 points and six assists. He routinely got by Beno Udrih, the Knicks' starter. New York entered play Monday night allowing point guards to score an average of 21 points per game. Not good. You can bet that Chris Paul is looking forward to Wednesday night. - ESPN
Without quality leadership (and defensive stickiness) at guard, the entire tempo of the game on both ends is dictated by the opponent.
Carmelo bringing the ball up court is a desperation move. It is a last resort. Fantasy trades and hopes for Toure Murry being an answer are a reach. What else is there?

Thats what Im looking for in the draft 1 good PG who falls and a 7+ C. I have to assume we will wield our 3mm in cash for picks with only 7 roster spot taken next yea rand cap ped out.

Even with Felton, I feel like we're over-matched there, and if we could get a role playing defensive minded fleet of foot PG we'd be better off.
I'm hoping we can send Shumpert for any upgrade at PG. It is a huge hole on this team. We have 3 backup PGs and no starters. That is where we hurt the most. Not one of our PGs would start for any other team in the league.
Was saying that in the game thread, we need an upgrade, should be a top priority. All our PGs are capable backups, but they aren't starter material.

Defensively these PGs we have are very weak. On offense they are very good at executing Woody's offense though.

even if that is the game plan, I think we need an upgrade as far as the defense is concerned. Get me someone who can at least slow down opposing PGs.

Bargs has been chipping in as well, Melo hasn't stopped him from contributing. The better the PG the better the looks everyone will get. I agree that JR needs to be reigned in though. No more carte blanche, that ship has sailed.

teams are allotted 3 mil cash to spend in transactions for the entire year. that means buying a pick for 3mil means they can no longer throw cash into any deal to make the $$$'s work.
secondly, how many picks have been sold recently? doesn't look like it's a common practice anymore. cheap labor is what everyone is looking for.
only way for the knicks to recoup picks is to trade melo and possibly chandler. nobody else is giving you anything.

Do real fans watch bad hoop? In the Mecca they do. Im not in the mecca literally for figurativly. I left because Knick management are disingenuious to their fans. No, its not the "NY Dolans" but he is the dude driving the decisions and how the roster is constructed. I'd support them if they rebuilt, made an effort to a better tomorrow.
What gets me is the low return we get. The team is just stuck in being mediocrity and yet we have so little assets to work with going forward. While some teams like Denver might be stuck as well, they have draft picks and a younger core. They COULD get better. We got cap space. So does lots of teams. What good is it if you can't support them? Good for selling tickets.
