That to me this is a HUGE problem
Exactly. You mean to tell The Answer Man that Melo does not have a better hook up in Denver than some cheesy hotel cafeteria?
They could at least have rented out Welton Street Cafe (Wings N Tings) or Chubby's Authentic Mexican.

It's funny how people interpet things. I thought the tweet and photo had a positive spin to it both from metta's message and the article that linked to it.
CrushALot - Ron's tweet was cute. Where was everyone else?
It appears more than half the roster was missing.
I completely agree. Literally no one MSG markets was in the photo either. Team 'leaders' not being there is a little upsetting
Take a closer look- the guys that are there are Beno, Prigs and Bargs- they are european players i.e. Thanksgiving is meaningless to them. MWP just invited them to his luch/breakfast because they probably didn't have anything else to do. everyone else is with their families- it's no big deal.
Euro or not, the Knicks were not, and are not, together.
Nice. He is a super guy. Spend sometime in Cleveland and see what the community thinks. Maybe the keys to the Knicks lack of success lie hidden in Metta's tweets.

Ask the hundreds of kids of Akron who participate in The Lebron James Foundation.
The Knicks are not successful because the Knicks have substandard talent at every position, except one. Basketball games are decided by superior talent.
It's all about the matchups.

So we agree that they are not decided by who you eat with.
So we agree that they are not decided by who you eat with.CrushALot - we both know that many factors contribute to winning.
In the past, Knicks teams have used road trips as bonding opportunities, Even when we had our asses handed to us last season, the Knicks hung tough and Kurt made a sacrifice in Utah, playing while injured. Result? We finish strong.
None of us can qualify segregation or bad vibes, because none of us are on the road, or at the Thanksgiving table, or in the locker room...
... but we also know that talent deficits are never a good thing ... combined with internal cliques.

I don't think Metta tweeted that to show that the team is divided. Not my interpretation at all. I think sometimes things are overanalyzed a bit and that is my opinion here. Similar to a few years back where guys were posting about body language and what that meant to the team.
You lose as a team... You share the cranberry sauce as a teamCrushALot - Metta tweeted because he was sharing a meal with his "family" of six.
It ain't that deep, but...
Where were the other eight?

If I am supposed to conclude from that that they are out someplace else because the team is divided I don't see that.
CrushALot - the only conclusion is that we are one game away from being 3-12

Me to but I don't like to share so I am eating by myself.
Woodson isn't the problem with this team, but I'm all for shaking things up just for the sake of shaking things up. Fire him.
Shake it Up Baby
Melonoma - you don't shake things up. You want to win a championship or go on Soul Train?
If you want a ring, then your GM devises a sound long term franchise strategy amd playing personality and he makes every decision accordingly.
Shaking things up, just for the sake of shaking things, is for the dance floor.
The team that learns to share dinner rolls together... Calls out picks together

"Right now it seems like we have no chemistry with one another, we're out of sync and the energy is very low. I think we can start with having high energy, putting forth some more effort. I think that stuff will start working its way around."

Have you considered that they might have wanted some time alone with their families? It would have been nice if they ate together but I wouldn't put too much stock in it. To riff on that famous line from "North Dallas Forty", sometimes its a business, and sometimes its a game. They don't need to be connected at the hip to play smarter. When they do the love will follow, Donny Hathaway
Dudes been together for two years even more if you dont count felton, how on earth do they not have chemistry?
I think the Knicks should stay the course with Woodson guarantee next year too need a good draft pick.
I'm hearing a lot of lame ass BS! Woodson had a full training camp to figure out what he wanted to do and all he could say is he didn't know who the team was. We started with MOST of the key players from last year in terms of production and minutes. Don't tell me this is not an indictment on Woody's coaching. It's a clear reflection of the way he prepared the team. This is his decision making and lack of ability to give the team a clear sense of what they should be doing. This doesn't mean they can't eventually play better but the dudes coaching is suspect IMO. Putting all the evidence together from his years here he is not proving to be a top coach.
Where is the growth of this team from last two yrs to this year? We have players who should be having breakout seasons this year and the opposite has happened. I most certainly can blame Woody for this. With this much time with the same core players they should perform as a unit almost on auto pilot by now. The guy clearly hasn't had that kind if effect on his players!!! Everything else is BS!
the entire franchise is a clusterfuck so you can't just focus your attention on a woefully overmatched mike woodson.
he has a history of being annihilated in second round playoff series for starters-- that alone should have given every knick fan pause. why? because that is where the challenge of coaching truly begins. he is a terrible strategist. and then he shows how badly he wants the job by acquiescing to dolan's condition of changing his agent. he is in a compromised state from the get-go.
now look at the clumsy roster he has to deal with-- it scared off phil jackson LOL. but no-- thanks to jason kidd and sheed the knicks appear to be a legit contender in spite of woodson being a terrible strategist. trouble is, ironically, that woodson is loyal to felton who at this point has been universally recognized as a scrubby tweener incapable of running an offense. he is loyal to melo whose shot selection and defense should have him benched almost every game if the coach has any stones but all we get is the dyed goatee scowl and the arms folded across his chest... and he is loyal to smith who is a train wreck.
woodson is a lousy leader but dolan creates a situation where this is ensured-- another reason why any coach with any sense of pride and self-worth will stay far away from this franchise.
but yeah all we hear is how awful stoudemire is and now how bad woodson is. amazing how hard it is to see that actually the clock is ticking on the epic fail of the melo era.

The players are already stating what they are missing.....veteran leadership and smarts.
Melo just said it today, JR said the same thing a few weeks ago...even Woodson has stated this isnt the same team.
When the star player says the team doesnt have chemistry, thats not the coach...that an improper roster.
Changing the coach is an easy fix, but what does it fix...the team isnt a good team....just a collection of individual talent.
Woody right now is going through what Doc did before the Big three....but I know they should have fired Doc, even though the team sucked.
