Franks been pretty bad at coaching the last few seasons. Also there were some grumblings that the players didn't grasp his defensive plans.
So the terrible pretend coach (Kidd) fires the terrible actual coach, but keeps his own job. Right.
Frank who is owed more than $6 million over six years --and had the possibility of a front office job down the road, say sources-- was brought back by the Nets this year to provide help to rookie coach Kidd. But as Frank Isola of the Daily News first reported, the two long-time friends had experienced increasing friction as the Nets disappointing season worsened.Kidd announced the news this afternoon. Joe Prunty, the Nets assistant who filled in for Kidd during his DUI suspension --and beat the Heat in his second game-- will take Frank's seat on the bench, Marc Stein reports. Kidd had made hiring Frank part of his deal and pushed for the long-term contract, said sources. "It was a package deal from day one," said one league source.

Wow. It always looked like he was the guy running the huddles and setting up plays during time outs. He has a 6 year deal at almost a million per. Billy King is starting look a bit foolish. Wonder if he gets canned if Kidd can't turn things around. Also, not sure that Kidd was ready or will be able to make the transition to being a head coach of a win now team.
Billy King has been looking foolish since way before the Nets hired him,

IMO he doesn't have the personality to be a head coach, the players had to ask him to at least stand up some of the time during games. I recall the first 6 or 7 games he never stood up unless it was a time out.
Wonder who will last longer in Brooklyn, Kidd or Frank? Someone is getting a buyout. I don't see them both coexisting.

Wow. The Nets announcers were saying that the hope was the he would become another poppovich but that he wasn't that guy because he isn't a coach that can sit down during games. Just goes to show you how some announcers spin things.
kidd gets frank fired again... priceless
Reassigned to doing daily reports. Wow. The guy is owed almost 6 million and is under contract for 6 years.
I have to wonder if the Knicks didn't make the right move not hiring Patrick. What do you do when your franchise icon can't do the job you hire him for. Where do you go with that?

Exactly, that among other things is why I don't want ewing as coach. Anything short of a championship will only tarnish the legacy, it's not worth it, especially not as a team with so few true icon players like the Knicks.

LOL
I think Kidd was in Dallas when frank was fired. Devin. Harris was the nets pg at the time. Kidd definitely got Scott fired
My goodness the biggest scam on Earth--being an NBA coach--what a racket!!

He got bought out in Detroit and has a 6 year deal at just under a mil per with the Nets.
Scapegoat. Garnett is old an can't cover for bad defense of Brook, Deron and Pierce. The team can't run and it's hard to pound it out in the halfcourt at that age.

It will be interesting to see what changes, if any there are in their game plan. You might be right that he's a scapegoat. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
I feel like Kidd is like, the "cool kid" freshman on campus,
it will take him a few "semesters" to settle in and understand what the life is about,
then he will raise his GPA and drop buckets
Billy King and their owner has done a fine job up until they traded for the Boston douchebags and put Jason Kidd in as head coach....they should have went a different direction....
so their arrogance backfired on them....
anyway, they are still in decent shape....just like the Knicks they need to make adjustments. Both teams are failing at that right now
