Only way I trade Melo is for Griffin.
Chandler and Memo For Jordan and Griffin plus trash
That's a bad trade. I don't know what yall see in Jordan he sucks, I want nothing to do with him. Griffin is also a very flawed star if you can even call him that.
NO THANK YOU
Griffin is flawed? lets see, he is a PF who actually plays like one. He patrols the paint, rebounds very, very well, can defend his position, passes pretty darn well, can score and do so efficiently...
And people, including his team mates.. Like him..
It would be a horrible trade for the clippers..
Jordan doesn't suck, again he does what the clippers need him to do.. dunk hard, block shots, rebound and intimidate...
sorry, those guys would instantly make the knicks better. while I can't say the same thing about carmelo or chandler in LA..
Half the stuff you just wrote is meaningless. Let's review 1)"Griffin plays like a PF", okay...,not exactly sure how that makes him any good... 2)"Griffin patrols the paint", this is basically repeating the PF line, again a vague, intrinsically valueless assertion. What does patrolling the paint even mean? He gets 3 second violations? Lmao you're gonna have to do better than that 3)His rebounding is his main asset, but for an athletic power forward this is expected, he's no Howard at ripping down boards 4)"Can defend his position"- he's a mediocre defender, not locking down anyone. There aren't many star PF's in the league anyway, and he's not a guy that is going to be your defensive anchor so there's nothing to be impressed about defensively. 5)"He can score efficiently", okay as you said anyone that plays "like a PF" should score efficiently, especially when all you do is dunk and take shots near the rim. So what, he can't be relied upon to create much offense on his own like a star player.
Jordan "dunks hard" so he's good? In the words of JR Bricks "FOH dude"
Grffin is instant entertainment. He will be a great in the Garden. If I would be Dolan I would not even think a minute if I can swap Melo for Blake. The problem is he can only be entertaining with fast break passing PG which we do not have at all. Blake can be a part of the plan but not the whole plan...
Yes, he's a great entertainer, not a great player. Clearly a beta player, will always need a great PG to hold his hand.
IronWillGiroud@ 12/4/2013 3:28 PM
pairing blake with jeremy lin would be great,
let's swing a three team deal sending jr smith, chris smith (waived), bargs, amar'e, shump and some picks for lin and blake in some three way swap,

Why don't we trade Melo and keep Iman!

They continue to give draft picks away award bad player contracts always trying to put band aide players all over the place. So if Melo wants to leave it's ok with me. I'm not going to call out his flaws all his flaws were enabled by a bad coach any good coach would have made adjustments to hide Melo's flaws.
+1, I couldn't agree more. If Melo does leave, maybe this will send a message to Dolan that you can buy a championship. You build your way to one. We need to keep our picks. Denver owns our picks this year, and it sickens me. So many good players are coming out this year.

We had the players, we just didn't have the right coach who knew what to do with inserting player during the most pivotal point in game 6 against the pacers.
Melo defense was horrendous , his decisions including challenging Hibbert caused us the momentum we had in the game at in the end of the 4rd qtr beginning of the forth, they he continued to give the pacers momentum with turn overs. We had the players , just not the right coach.
And the rigged clip[

Because Dolan doesn't like him!
I am starting to wonder if we have a Tyson trade lined up for 15th Dec- he's on week 5 of a 4-6 week recovery and the Knicks have been mysteriously quiet about his return.

melo will leave during FA not before the trade deadline. if he does i'll be shocked.
ApophisADL@ 12/4/2013 3:55 PM
Melo > Griffin
Chandler, Melo, Paul with shooters off the bench.
Yea, Clippers wouldn't do that trade.

Can the Knicks afford to let him walk?

Saying it doesn't make it so. The only thing Melo does better than Griffin is inflate his PPG totals

It's not even Christmas yet. Even if this was a credible quote, there is a lot that can happen from now until fishing season that could change his mind. Decisions like this aren't made in the middle of a losing streak, they are made in a CAA office. Knicks can give him the most money, right. But now it's not about getting the maximum, it's about being wooed and playing for a winner, huh? Well, hooray for personal development.

Please don't remind us
DrAlphaeus@ 12/4/2013 4:31 PM
Stephen A. "Ain't no way in hell he's staying here." … "CAA does not run Carmelo Anthony" … "if there is any truth to the rumors…"
No source, of course. Michael Kay show right now is dissecting the quote, his sidekick is saying that maybe the fans are to blame… Michael Kay however is saying that most fans will say "good riddance" if he really wants to leave when the going gets tough because "it's not fun" right now, after giving up so much and putting out that ridiculous "Welcome Home" mat out front of the Garden for him.
Too much jibber jabber about how "we playing to lose" and being a "laughingstock," not enough on how we get better or a light at the end of the tunnel. If Melo is focusing on the offseason already instead of getting through December, to hell with him. Have fun in LA.
gunsnewing@ 12/4/2013 4:33 PM
Another question how does anyone but Carmelo know what he wants to do? More Stephen smoke?

Screaming A Smith has sources. He was months ahead on some big moves in the past. He has really good sources with the top guys from the Lebron draft.
gunsnewing@ 12/4/2013 4:47 PM
Unless his source is Melo how does he know what Melo wants. Is he inside Melo's head?
playa2@ 12/4/2013 4:47 PM
Melo came to the knicks/ to get paid in full, the garden got excited , cuz it use to be dull.
He got a big write up/ on all the newspapers , now he's leaving US/ and we all got da VAPORS!
gunsnewing@ 12/4/2013 4:51 PM
Melo is leaving because he thinks the Knicks did not do enough to build a championship team around him. He's too dumb to realize that he is the reason why we have no assets
BRIGGS@ 12/4/2013 4:51 PM
My guess is that 75%++ Knick fans want a divorce from CA. We dont want to pay him 30mm and he dominates our team our culture and there is no way around it as we dont have the assets to surround him with the correct personnel--he took care of that himself.
Now its in the media he wants to leave--on all of the talk shows---just give it a little bit and he will be booed out of MSG.

You give Knicks fans too much credit. Maybe 75%+ of UK thinks like that, but to most regular/casual fans he's golden.
