Knicks · Kendall Marshall just missed a triple double in dleague debut. (page 1)

31 pts, 10 assists and 9 boards. He is a free agent and was a lottery pick in 2012. Seems like he should at least be given a look.
More on Marshall.

Would definitely take a look at this kid. Thrived in a great system at UNC, against top notch competition. He is a true pg in every sense. Can see the floor, and is an imaginative passer. Main question about his game was his inability to score and questionable jumper. But, we should definitely look at picking him up.....

We definitely need to take a look at this guy. He seems like a smart player, which gives me the impression that he'll be able to mask his flaws (offense) ala Andre Miller. I like the kid.

DLeague allstar doesnt mean he can hang in the NBA.

Our PG platoon looks like D-league talent on most nights though. There are bench players better than our guys.

BigDaddyG @ 12/8/2013 8:20 PM
I always liked his game in UNC. At the same time, I thought he was overrated in the draft because there weren't many PGs coming out. I think he can play if his three-point shot becomes decent, but I don't think he could add much to the Knicks. They'd be better off just playing Murray more.

He is one year removed from being a lottery pick and he is a free agent. He might not be the answer and might not make the team or last but he is talented, young and plays the position the Knicks are weakest at. Worth a look in my opinion.

Marshall is averaging 22 pts. 11 assists, and 6 rebounds in 3 games.

i would gladly give him a shot, what is there to lose?

it's baffling how he was selected #13 by the suns one year ago and now isn't even on an NBA team? does he have an attitude problem or something? how has no one taken a chance on him?

Not sure but I think he will be picked up soon. I read a sixers blog suggesting they should sign him.

From the little I saw, he had a tough time adjusting to NBA speed and he just couldn't shoot. Defense is an issue with him as well. He's a guy to track, but there are probably better prospects out there.
smackeddog @ 12/9/2013 4:06 AM
Suns gave up on him amazingly quickly- like that Bucks player (Joe Alexander or something)

But isn't Chris smith averaging 30/12/8?

The Grizzlies will work out free agent Gs Darius Morris, Reggie Williams, Seth Curry and Kendall Marshall this week.

Grrrrrrrr

why can't the knicks do the same?

Why aren't we doing anything?

BigDaddyG @ 12/9/2013 9:39 PM
I would take Darius Morris out of that group. He looked good with Philly, but MCW and Tony Wroten are playing much better than anyone thought. Reggie Williams used to be really solid in Golden State. Don't know what happened to him, but I would take a shot on him. He can hit the three when his game is right.

They are all guards who probably wouldn't play anyway. We have Murray rotting on the bench already. But I would like to see us bring up Tyler and put the Chris Smith era behind us.

smackeddog @ 12/10/2013 4:30 AM
our guards are slow, can't defend, drive, shoot or pass. At least Kendal Marshall can pass- his numbers were okay when he got the minutes- I just find it suspicious that the Suns gave up on him so quickly, when usually PGs take a few years to play well.

Yup. All three of those guys may end up in Europe but they might be better/cheaper players than we have now.

I think it was the bledsoe deal and dragic. They let Marshall go so he could find another opportunity. At least that's one way to think about it

NBA Gms aren't that generous. The Wizards would've tried to at least get second round pick out of him if he had value. It's possible he could've improved his shooting, but I need to see him prove it before I'm convinced. Plus, Murray's upside is probably about the same at this point. We need another project guard sitting on the bench? Heck, we have a rookie two-guard who contributes, and he can't get enough playing time.
