That's what I'm talking about!
I think Melo would like this guy(not that there's a lot of Melo fans on this board) but he would also get this squad to play defense. Not just with their heart but with their heads. Look at Memphis' defense falling apart this season. Cooincidence?? I'm not really a Woody hater but I think he's just Mediocre. Hollins is a good coach. He'll probably have us in the top 10 defensively. If we can just get a little offense out of our guards we can be respectable.
I still don't see what they plan to do about the PG situation defensively. I've never seen anything like it. These guys get burnt every time down the floor. A defensive upgrade in the backcourt would significantly improve this team.
This has Isiah written all over it. A former pg himself making sure we won't have a young one who can orchestrate and run a team.
Jesus, now Woody is claiming that when he said Amar'e would be "out for a while", it was the media who ran with it- now he says he could be back this weekend! So he p***ed off Amar'e by exagerrating his status just to deflect attention from the disaster the night before...
Woody looks and sounds increasingly desperate with every passing day. It's horrible being at risk of losing your job (I've been there before!), but man he's an absolute mess these days!
Stephen A said he heard from his knick people that Dolan frustrations with Mike Woodson is growing. I'm sure he was thrilled that he didn't use one of his 3 times or had his players prepared

They mostly get beat off pick and rolls. That's on the screeners defender to provide help over the top. That's why our bigs are useless and PG's destroy us. How does nobody see this?? We don't force pick and rolls baseline, we don't show at all, and we don't have our wings down in the lane to force a kick out. It's terrible strategy. It has nothing to do with Raymond's weight or Pablo's age. Udrih on the other hand just can't defend.
Woody has been exposed. He more than many coaches is a product of his roster. With good players and a player coach like Kidd he looked really good, but when things got tough in the playoffs and he started to assert his ideas more, which was more ISO, the team played worse. This year is even more of an exposure of Woody's actual coaching skills. He doesn't have any real Offensive scheme and his switching Defense makes everyone cringe. It only works half decently with Tyson in there.
People thought it was bad under MDA, but think about this, after this job do you think Woody would get a job like the LA Lakers after this? That's how bad things are for the Knicks. The guy we drove out of town basically, in order to have Woody take over, is in LA now. I could see no circumstances under which Woody would get a high profile job like that after this stint with the Knicks. Woody at his best is just not that amazing. To me that says a lot. People made too much of his record in the regular season, which may not have really been so much about him as it was the team just clicking and him along for the ride. I have to question that now after all we've seen this year and last playoffs.
Woodrow exposed himself when he couldn't command respect from his players at the beginning of the year.
Personally I think he wants out like Larry Brown did.
Why do you think Dolan put a gag order on Brown after his stint with the Knicks ?

Probably because he had to pay him.
these coaches arent gonna say anything anyway, Dantoni didnt, neither will Woody if that day comes.
they collect their checks and ride out.

I never thought that he lost respect of his players. I think when he was forced to keep Chris Smith on the roster it impacted how players felt about Woodson, the chain of command and the organization. I also think the bottom dropped out for Woodson when Grunwald was fired. I am pretty sure he has no say in what players are on the roster and even has been told how to disperse minutes for some of his players. Also, the guy is followed by msg staff everywhere he goes. Add injuries to Tyson, Felton, Amare, Kmart, Metta, Prigs, and JR and Shump playing ridiculously bad and I think you have the makings of a very dysfunctional situation. Not sure how one guy overcomes all of that to lead.
