Would you do that?
I would.

Ha- no way in hell! I'm curious to know what the heck your reasoning is. Gasol is done and a FA who said he plans in going back to Memphis. We ship out the two better players and essentially get nothing in return.
Tyson has good value- you can get some picks back for him. Shump can get you a young player. That lakers deal means you're giving them away for free!

Sometimes greed is no good. The only team we think would want Tyson is okc....but tgey are winning without him just fine. To take on salary and give up picks is something they havent done yet. Trading for Tyson would be a first. Getting rid of JR and tyson in the same trade? Then doing the lowry deal? We open space for next year...
sheet shop Melo to the clippers and we could have blake, gasol, lowry to finish the year. Blake to build around. Free cap space.... is a plan for a team with currently no plan.
Amare and shump for gasol?
blake to build around? impossible
It's something to talk about....
Dec 15th is going to be hot. I noticed alot of teams played their whole rosters last night. Even Woodson stuck Cole and murry out there
Gasol is awful now. If this trade occurs, maybe the Knicks are just trying to dump salary. It's still a bad deal though.
Now, if they throw in Jordan Hill, I'd do the trade. Or if they took Felton off our hands and through in a protected 1st round pick, I'd do it.

What if they took back Amare and shump instead of tyson and jr?
It would explain why we backed out of the Lowry deal
What about bargs and jr for Gasol? Dantoni loves shooters
Tyson is the better player so The knicks should get more assets to entice them. I do like the though of Gasol passing but he is shooting 41%. Everything else is near career numbers though.

The way Bargs is playing now on both ends of the court, the fact that Tyson can't stay healthy for more than a nanosecond, and has another year left, makes me like Tyson for Gasol a lot more. Tears of joy if JR was included in that deal.
Just imagining Amare, Anthony and Gasol on the floor at the same time gives me night sweats.

Give them a point guard with a pulse and we are coming with greese.

I'm not even sure I want to understand that.

Well then they'd have no reason to do the trade. Amare is too much of a risk

That lineup might not look inspiring but a starting lineup of Bargs/Gasol/Melo/Shump/Prigs could be pretty good for the rest of the season since Pau is probably a rental. Would be middle of the road defensively, but the offense could make up for it. Ball movement would be first rate with Gasol in the mix.

If they do a gasol trade and the Lowry trade they could have bargs, Melo, gasol, lowry and hardaway starting... the bench could work itself out.
I would be good with that. I could start watching Games again. i think that line up had some balanced skill
That gets rid of JR, addition by subtraction even if you lose Tyson you clear 21MM in salary for next season and get the cancer out of the lockroom and open up more minutes for Hardaway Jr.
They need to strongly consider moving Tysons before he gets hurt again. He has been hurt every year he has been here. Hasn't even been remotely close to physically able to contribute in the playoffs. He is starting to break down. Time to move on.

Yeah but it's a pointless clearing of $21 mil since we'd still be over the cap.
D'Antoni believes Gasol's rationale of being less aggressive is an excuse."That's a classic, 'Well, I don't know what I'm supposed to do,'" D'Antoni said. "Well, you don't have trouble getting up to the pay-stub line. They know what to do there to get the check. So obviously you know what to do. They will."
