Hate to wish injury on anyone, but if Melo comes back this week and Bargs sits for a while, it might be the best thing that can happen for the team if they hope to get to .500.
It seems like Woodson is ready to not play him the minutes he's been getting judging by his post game comments. And he barely played in the 2nd half yesterday.
It's so obvious how much he hurts the team defensively. I kinda feel bad for him because I don't think it's an effort thing. I just think he's a part of the low IQ problem the roster has.
Regardless, he should sit. Maybe playing 6-8 minutes per game the rest of the year will drive him to opt out and go back to Italy or sign somewhere else, in addition to helping us salvage the year. And by salvage I mean not deal with the embarrassment of giving a lottery pick as the final blow from the Melo deal.

Dolan was willing to give 3draft picks for bargs and won't give 1for Lowry Tells u all our leader He took bargs on for 3draft picks. That's his big move and it backfired just like giving amare5 years
Is it his neck? I thought I saw something about that on twitter.

I agree. The positive spin on that is maybe Dolan sees what a horrible deal that was and is not giving any more picks unless it's for a Rondo type. A 1st for Lowry is good, but now he's gun shy. Maybe that's a good thing.
I wish the Hakeem camp wasn't close for the summer. Bargs needs a transformation since his 3pter is gone.

Bargs problem is D. He's a good offensive player. His D makes him useless.

Yea his neck is messed up.

Actually he is not or not good enough on O to make his D be overlooked. He just needs to cut out the threes or learn how to shoot a corner three. Maybe that would change the oppositions % converted on his misses because most of his threes come from the top of the key.
One poster on Knickerblogger suggested that it would be interesting to see if Bargs could run a pnr as a ball handler. He seems to have the skills to do so.
Re: D - I don't think there is anything that could be done to improve his team D. He actually is better than I thought but is still garbage. I do think he needs simple assignments like trapping the PnR everytime but then he gets lost finding his man after the ball is swung. This switching D also hurts him because he gets confused easily.
If I was Woody I would try Bargs as the top man in the 1-4 zone. Let him use his Iso defense and decrease his decision making.
i am pretty convinced the knicks gave up so much for melo and bargs b/c they both have the same agents and are represented by CAA...

Nothing that complex- Dolan is just a moron, is all. He probably thought CAA were doing HIM a favour with those trades!
When you want guys to learn to do stuff you are dead. ......we need to focus on what or players can do and maximize it. That's where Woodson failed as a coach. Nothing wrong with Bargs game. You don't reteach pros. You get them in spots where they can succeed.
Saying "nothing is wrong with bargs game", is equivalent of calling Dolan a great owner since he's willing to spend.

No that's your spin. If course he can't rebound or help defend.... why do we need to put him in spots where he is exposed? We need to rebound and defend so we should get guys that do that. If that means trade bargs so be it. But the dude should be placed I in a role he fits.

I think it is in his head... some brain issue will playing defense... Dfobia.

He needs to be in a role where playing bad basketball is OK. I think he found the right place.
It's all Dolan. He is in complete control. He won't allow any GM to have full control. I don't hate Bargs like others, even tho he is frustrating, but deals made by this team are fully on Dolan since the Melo deal IMO. We all knew Bargs was a problem on D. I don't think Bargs is used to his best on O either. It's easy to pick him out but in truth there's a LOT of other players creating the issues on D for this team. It's not news that Bargs is soft and not a good help defender. Teams are killing us from the perimeter tho! Teams are getting fast breaks and 3's.
Sitting Bargs hasn't changed those weaknesses.
Bargs has been inconsistent but he has played better on both sides of the ball than many here like to claim. Many forget his games agaisnt Howard, Lopez and Hibbert. He has shown enough that he is likely tradeable for someone with a different PF skillset that may fit better for this crappy team. Wouldnt be surprised to see him playing center for a west coast team this year

Actually his shot leads to a lot of those fast breaks and 3s.

Lol....
I'm just not gonna bash Bargs for playing like he's always played. He's never going to be Patrick Ewing so I'm not going to cry if he isn't.
What about the guys that were here last year that all suck now? Bargs is new to this. This group win 54 games. They missed a old kidd, injured sheed, and old man kurt Thomas that much?
Knickerbocker please!
He needs to learn how to jump stop at the rim and up fake like he does at the perimeter. I would love for him to train with Amar'e in the summer but it's probably a lost cause. I came into the season with an open mind about Bargs not for or against(I was against the 1st rounder) the acquisition but think he is incapable of being a plus player
I think Bargs can still be salvaged. Get the right coaching and off season work on his weaknesses. He clearly has the talent but he needs work around the basket and I'd have him work with a big man coach on rebounding and post work. I'd demand he get on a real strength and conditioning program.
