Jr's shoe lace incident is being investigated by the nba. Strange, I don't remember Wade getting investigated when he threw Bibbys shoe into the stands during a playoff game.
JesseDark@ 1/7/2014 7:29 AM
Guess JR wanted to make Shaquille Oneil's Shaqtin-a-fool segment on TNT.
anrst@ 1/7/2014 6:36 PM

How much investigation can be done with the whole things on video?

WTF? Again? This time Smith tries to unlace Greg Monroe's shoes? He says he does it every game?
Is Smith trying to get traded? Benched? Just picking fights? Weird thing to do, especially after getting called on it, and a weird thing to claim you do all the time.
" . . . during the first quarter of a Tuesday night game against the Pistons, Smith appeared to attempt to untie Greg Monroe during a free throw. Smith reached down with his right hand and contacted Monroe’s left foot, but he did not succeed in untying the shoe as Monroe moved his foot. . . "
Doesn't look like much of an attempt. Maybe another angle would make it clearer.
NumberTwoPencil@ 1/7/2014 11:45 PM
The oddest thing, IMO, is Smith's claim that he unties players shoes every game.
Bonn1997@ 1/8/2014 1:30 AM
How much better would our record be right now if every one of Smith's minutes this season had gone to THjr and Murry? I bet we'd have at least 1 or 2 more wins.
jrodmc@ 1/8/2014 9:55 AM
That argument would be so much nicer if we hadn't lost 3 straight without JR in the lineup at the start of the season.
JR's shot attempts are down, and he's rebounding. So there.
smackeddog@ 1/8/2014 11:00 AM
Don't remember that getting a fraction of the backlash JR got. JR has lots of faults, and he's been pissing me off most of the season, but I'm not bothered about him untying someones shoe lace.

Are you talking about the 2-3 start to the season without him? You're just counting the 3 losses?

when they occurred all in a row, yes.
you're just counting the 2 wins?

After the NBA gave him a warning yesterday, they came back the next day and fined him 50K, what the hell is up with that?

because he tried to do the same thing again after the warning
MSG3@ 1/8/2014 1:46 PM
This guy is such a loser. Chances are he's broke 10 years after he retires.

He also tried it on Howard in Houston before Howard did it to him

hahaha! No, I wasn't focused on any 5 game stretch. I was looking at the win shares and other stats of the players.

THJr is going to break down without any of JR's minutes. Murray will be getting plenty of minutes while Beno Pablo and Felton take turns breaking down.
I listen to the games on the radio. Murray's offensive game even sounds ugly. Oh jeez, don't look now, but I'm agreeing with tkf on something.

NEW YORK -- New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith has been fined $50,000 for recurring instances of unsportsmanlike conduct, it was announced today by Rod Thorn, President, Basketball Operations.
During the Knicks' 92-80 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 5, at American Airlines Center, Smith untied the shoelace of Mavericks' forward Shawn Marion during a free throw attempt. After Smith was warned by the league office to refrain from further conduct of this nature, he attempted to repeat the action last night during New York's 89-85 win over the Detroit Pistons at Madison Square Garden.
