Mullens for Udrih works. The Clips aren't playing Mullens but I think they would want at least a second rounder included to do a deal like this. Mullins is not part of the clippers plan and may not be a doc player but he is only 24 and was rated as a top 3 player coming out of high school in his class.
I want rid of Beno so, yes! I'd probably agree to any trade involving him though. Hopefully his value goes up with all these PGs that have gotten injured lately- might be able to snag a second rounder or something.
I like Mullens. He's a defensive sieve but he is an upgrade over what we have offensively on the bench.

Our bigs consist of Tyson, Bargs, Amare, KMart, Tyler, Cole. We need more?

Most of those guys are injury prone and Mullens is easily the best shooter of the group. I don't think he'd make a big difference for us but I think he could help.

Considering the fact that Kmart, Tyson, and Stat, can't stay healthy for very long and we still have a little more than half a season left before the playoffs (assuming we make it) maybe we do. Some posters here thought signing Murry was a bad idea because of our glut at guard, but look at the role he has now.
Indy has maybe the best front line in the East, if not the league. Better safe than sorry IMO. Can't remember Mullens, getting old lol, but I don't believe its far fetched to believe that we may end up needing another big by the end of the season considering our history with injuries over the last few seasons.

No we have bargs. Udirih is a much needed piece if the goal is to win

I don't know about that- I'm suspicious of his impact on team chemistry, and he's sulking with Woody.

He shot 32% from deep last year and 33% this year. Guys got range. I'm not sure why it seems so outlandish for me to say that. Save Bargs, none of our guys take 3 pointers.

you are backpedaling faster than JR's career as a Knicks is dwindling.
First it was: he is an upgrade over what we have offensively on the bench. Then: Best Shooter. Then, we narrow to 3 point shooting stats.
How about we conclude: he is a career 40% shooter as a big man. He would get zero minutes with the likes of Chandler, Martin, Amare, Tyler, Bargs on roster. He is a downgrade as a player over any of those guys.

funny I had a list of free agents.. Mullens and Augusting were two guys I said would help this team and were signed for pennies... But all I heard was how great the beno/ bargnani pick and roll would be and how much of a great signing artest was... go figure.. not saying that you said this... just adding my two cents, since you mentioned Mullens..
Rather get a PG but I like Mullens.
No on Mullens and Augustin is shooting horribly.

Not really. Who do we have coming off the bench at the 4/5 spots that has any recent history of offensive prowess? We start Bargnani and Tyson and we have guys on the bench like Kenyon Martin and Cole Aldrich that have no skill on that end of the floor. The only guys left that fit the criteria of "offensive bench player (at the 4/5 spot)" is Amar'e and Jeremy Tyler; and Jeremy Tyler has not demonstrated anything as a NBA player and Amar'e Stoudemire is spending almost as much time on the bench, as he does off of it. I suppose you can fight me tooth and nail about Amare's candidacy for the title but if he's the best you got, doesn't that prove my point about the need for Mullens offensively?
And I never suggested that Mullens was a good offensive player but the guy at his size, is better than what we got . He can shoot the ball, which may be his only skill but it is still more than the vast majority of our big man platoon can do. I stand by my statement.
When Mullens has gotten time, he has scored and rebounded ok. As a backup player, i think he would be fine.

Well because Mullens shoot so poorly of a % everyone that's played almost including jeffries. He can make a 3 but he is still below league avg.

Then Kenyon Martin is worse off still. I checked the advanced stats this season and Bryon is better in both his eFG% and TS% (make of that what you will because I'd take it with a grain of salt). And as I've said, if Amar'e is the best we got coming off the bench as a big, we need all the help that's available.
For the record, none of this is a celebration of Bryon Mullens' ability as much as it is an indictment of this team and the shitty talent we've got. I'm NOT a fan of Mullens (that is basketball-wise; as a person, he seems like a good, conscientious dude). At the same time, I'm also not a fan of our supporting cast around Melo.

His current figures are nearly identical to his career numbers. He just had a helluva run last season that broke this trend.
Mullens hasn't sniffed important minutes in his entire career. Argue all you want and make that argument so narrow as to make it pointless.
Great, Mullens in his spot garbage time that has possibly inflated his offensive stats, or Mullens the starter on a Charlotte team that marked the worst or second worst records in the entire league, can shoot the 3 point shot a bit better than the norm for a center and so inflates is eFG%.
I get the feel that Doc Rivers will play him shortly, but for the depth of PF/C's on that team - the whole of Antawn Jamison and Ryan Hollins - for his offensive prowess.
