In this league, a PG is far more integral to a team's success than a C. I can't see them trading Calderon for a 3rd string PG like Beno and still expect to compete. The interest in Chandler would be real but that is too high an asking price.
Personally, I think our best bet to trade Chandler would be to Portland. My asking price would be for CJ McCullom, Robin Lopez and Meyers Leonard. Aside from Lopez, none of those guys are a part of the Blazers rotation, so I can't see it being unreasonable. Chandler is a clear upgrade over Lopez, which should obviously be appealing to the Blazers. From our perspective, we get a guy that can keep things competitive at the C position and two projects that were former lottery picks. After the draft, there was a lot of hype about CJ being a Damien Lillard clone, so there should definitely be value there down the road.

I would ask for CJ and Meyers and go from there. Salaries would have to match so NY would have to take back a big contractbut for CJ you do it.

why would Andrew Bynum want to come here. He has options. I'm Ok with going with a platoon of Bargs, Kenyon and STAT if we're able to get picks or young talent for Chandler. But that will be a tall order for a guy who's missed most of the year with injuries.

If anyone looks like a keeper, sign them to a 2 or 3-yr deal...We need to keep our eye on this PJ Hairston too -- this guy's a talent that may slip down in this draft, maybe even go undrafted. Just had a very successful debut in the D-League -- 22 pts, 6 steals...Probably a longshot (this dude has 1st round talent all the way) but see -- if it winds up looking like he's obtainable for us, pounce on him.
Get a GM in here who can handle this task. It's a tall order that this guy Mills probably isn't up for. I mean we haven't heard a peep outta this guy -- what's his mindset? If he still believes in this team, he's DEFINITELY not the guy to move forward with...Go get somebody who is -- I recommended Tom Penn. Bright, young engaging man with experience that knows the nuances of the job (and of a rebuild) and knows his talent...Then look for a good young coach. Consider what the Celtics did with Brad Stevens...Billy Donovan? Sean Miller maybe? Steve Alford, Jay Wright? We don't have to follow this plan to the letter but do something similar. This ship is sunk -- we need to break it all down and build it back up again. It's gonna take time -- fans are gonna need to understand. I know I do. Hey, we tried -- things didn't work out. Break it up and try again. What else are we gonna do -- keep fooling ourselves? Don't waste anymore time. Start the process NOW.

I believe he'll be going through the draft process. Rice Jr is a good comparison, both in ability as a player and road to the NBA. Hairston might be a better talent, better shooter. Like I said, he's a longshot for us but hopefully we're keeping tabs on him. He very well may slip when the time comes.

That would work with any other organization but unfortunately with Dolan the same thing is gonna happen again and again. Yeah we will rebuild at the cost of picks and we'll get another Marbury, or Melo or whoever will draw in a crowd and a coach thats not really a coach but an expensive babysitter, then it'll be the same old thing all over again. I am finally at peace with myself as a Knicks fan. Dolan is 58 years old, I GUARANTEE we will see no championship in the next 20 years, or until Dolan is no longer the boss (not wishing him dead or anything).

Lopez(25), Meyers, Claver, and a 2015 1st should be the goal. I would try to use that 1st to get Thad Young(25) or you could go to Orl and ask for affalo,Davis, and Nelson for Bargs and the 2015 1st via Portland. I doubt any of it will happen but Chandler is reportedly in demand.

I tend to agree on Bynum. Kind of a lose/lose with this guy, no? If we got him and say he managed to stay healthy & he put up decent numbers the rest of the way--off that, he'd want big money, money we don't have, money he shouldn't get. With his injury history and character issues, I don't know about any lengthy extension for this dude. That's a gamble. And then if he's not part of the future, what's the point? Sad but this guy's not what he once was -- are we championship caliber the moment he walks in the door? No. Plus he'll take time away from Aldrich and Tyler, 2 guys I feel we should be putting much more work into finding out more about. I'd pass. Plus, a move for a guy like this signals we're still going for it -- and what "it" means I don't even know anymore -- 35 wins and maybe the 8th seed? To get swept in the 1st round? Pass. Break it down and rebuild it the right way.
