Agree. Shump was a considered a second round pick until his individual workouts. Draftnet gave the Knicks a d for the pick.

Shump has been DESTROYED by Woodson. I don't think Shump has been developed at all by this coach. Tell me when was the last time you saw any plays run for SHump? Do you see any consistent Curls, Down screens, back cuts or anything special run for Shump? He's not a great offensive guard, but he's got enough athletic ability that you should be able to create some things that enhance his strengths. Dude NEVER looked this bad before and part of that is because he was being used and involved in the game plan more. Woodson doesn't make ANYONE better and that means only the most skilled guys can function at a high level. Some coaches seem to get a TON out of their role players and some don't. People got fooled by last year but now i'm convinced that Kidd was the reason for a lot of that. Woodson hasn't shown the ability to get the same out of his players since Kidd left. Woody never wanted to play the game the way we did last year and we saw he was reluctant to do that this year. Shump will shine under a different coach.

Scouting report from draftnet on Shump
Weaknesses: Lacks stability/discipline on the court ... Inconsistent … Not efficient at all ... Horrid shot-selection ... Liable to shoot at any time, even when being closely guarded ... Likes to shoot off the dribble on a good deal of his isolation possessions, despite only connecting on 20% of these attempts ... Shoots nearly 5 three pointers per game, despite only shooting 27.8% from behind the arc ... Will often go for the flashy play instead of the easy play, which can lead to unforced turnovers ... Very poor jump shooter, and hasn't shown any improvement in this area during his three-year career with Georgia Tech ... Needs the ball in his hands a lot to be effective on offense and he certainly won't have as many isolation opportunities at the next level ... Should look to take advantage of his size and strength more in the post, but has yet to add this dimension to his game ... Attitude has been questioned in the past, but to his credit he appears to have matured over the past year ...

Overall: Shumpert has rare physical tools for a guard on any level of basketball ... His defense should get him on an NBA roster and possibly into a rotation, but his poor basketball IQ will certainly hurt his effectiveness ... Should be an early-mid second round pick this year ...

Its on Woodson?

I don't think Woodson destroyed Shump, but I'm for sure he hasn't helped him like he did JR Smith this season.

Politics is not something Shumpert is real cozy with, the knicks and their lack of leadership limits how the team plays and Shumpert has chosen not to dance when management started playing the flute.

Shumpert is a warrior, he didn't lose that, what he lost was the respect for the Knicks management leading with James Dolan and Mike Woodson.

Like Samson, he was never the same after he cut his hair.

A lack of talent, unrealistic expectations.

And JR dances when "they play the flute"? JR has doesn't even play along yet gets treated like a treasured prince. It's absurd.

They weren't the only ones predicting that for Shump and so far they aren't wrong.

Why would JR have to dance to a flute when Dolan told Woody to make it work with JR, because he wanted to get "The Pipe"

Nobody talked so negative about Shumpert when we had a system in place with proper leadership.

There are some players who only play well is well structured systems or when the team plays the right way.

Papabear Says

I know you hate Woody but Shump was never a good shooter. He has trouble making lay-ups around the basket. So does Chandler.

Iman Shumpert is a good basketball player change the coach or his environment and he will be the best on ball defender we have and also a great team player.

Well I definitely did. He was never more than a 9 PPG, 39 to 41% shooter who can't' run an offense or shoot like an SG. His defense looked better but not enough to compensate for the offense. Even in college against far worse talent, he shot only .396.
Any athletic NBDL player would have enough to fill a highlight film if given 4000 NBA minutes.
