Chicago would be better off keeping Gibson. They can put him next to Melo and Noah with Butler and Rose and they will be ready for war.
The deal I posted is great for us as is because Boozer and Dunlevy are expiring and we get 3 quality young players. The Knicks could actually still win after this deal. If they can trade Chandler too and get more picks and a usable player we would be back in business Mortimer

That scouting report looks to be 3 years old. He has supposedly gotten a lot better.

No, he's definitely a stretch 4. Think Ryan Anderson with very good passing ability, some post skills (ala Scola) and defensive ability.

If the Bulls decide they do need to clear cap space or want to include the draft picks in a sign-and-trade deal, the picks can be traded anytime if they are unsigned. Or they can be traded 30 days after they sign contracts.
The second option might actually work better for the Bulls if they end up with a deal to send assets back to New York for Anthony. Once draft picks are signed, their actual salary counts in trades and, in theory, the Bulls could give Anthony more money in a sign-and-trade than they could if he simply signed as a free agent.
Another possibility is draft a player who could stay in Europe for at least a year, maybe Switzerland native Clint Capela. Then that player's rookie salary would not count against the Bulls' cap space, but they'd keep his rights.

If the Bulls get Melo, they'd have to. His buyout is pretty expensive and he is rumored to be searching for more than the mid-level exception. With Melo-Noah-Rose under contract, that Bulls team won't be under the cap for 3 more seasons (assuming that cap increases at its current rate).
