+1 on all points. If they will include Parsons, great but it would be only so we could trade him. He's a nice player but he's about to be badly overpaid.
Melo for Lin, Parsons, 2 first round picks (which would prob be around 25 to 30), and returning our 2 second round picks (2014, 2015) would be reasonable. Those second round picks might be around 35. I'd love to get more but don't see it happening.
I like your thinking. Would prefer Asik instead of Parsons so that we can get rid of that headache Flu Tyson.
Taking Boozer and picks
Gives us ability to s and t melo to ensure we get sooid return helps chicago in 2 ways let me tell u life advice don't be greedy we are not in position to get what we gave up melo could leave for nothing if we get two picks and agood player on an ending max contract that's solid reurn right now I don't want asik I want 2 hand picked young guys anda player who can help us next year
actofgod wrote:Melo for Lin/Asik/Parsons would be ok in my book. The worst thing we can do it max out Melo, would cripple the team for seemingly forever.
I need to get some draft picks to make this work for me.

It also adds to our RIVAL for the next 5 years to compete with us
I would much rather send him West, to Houston if we can choose, even though Bulls can give us a better package, with Lin, Asik, Parsons, and a combined 3-4 picks, 2 1st rounders

OK, but if Gibson, Butler or Mitotic were available, would you still prefer the Boozer expring? All three have solid deals.

The Bulls will be the Bulls, with or without our help. All we can control is what we can do to better the team. And at this point, we are no one's rival so our only focus should be on doing the best we can to build a sustainable winner. I personally think that the best way to start the process is to steer Melo to Chicago.

This aligns with my thinking, too. Boozer's expiring and two mid round picks is a smarted move going forward so we keep our salary low and develop some prospects. We should try to snag rights to Mirotic, too.

Also he will be labeled a sell out and never welcome in NYC ever again. if he goes to Miami he along with Lebron will tarnish the nba image. I Love how people try to compare Lebron to Jordan as the best player ever... Lebron isn't even in the same atmosphere... Jordan never needed rival hof players to win champs... He wanted to prove to the world he was the best ever and he did, by not recruiting other hof players he had hate for. Same with all the stars before Jordan as well... Like bird would have joined magic lol or west joining Frazier.
Or Oscar Robertson joining Kareem
I just hope we actually get a sign and trade of value- If that's what Phil really wants maybe that's why he's so confident he can get picks and isn't "overcourting" Melo
I just want the best deal back but emotionally I feel better w him going to Houston for some reason. That'd be kind of a space jam style team.
If Im the Knicks, I will get the draft picks and trade one of the picks to trade back. 16 to like the LATE 20's will probably add another draft pick in 2016 and it will cheaper our salary for 2015. The Knicks love PJ Hairston and will be aval at 19.
Taking Brooz back is tricky. Don't want to bail out Chicago on his contract rather have them to amnesty him. I want Jimmy though, he is a problem for Melo and will be able to use him against him in the future.

The we need a resolution to the Kevin Love situation as soon as possible. The draft is coming up in a couple of weeks. I'd rather have Taj Gibson in any deal, but I can see why people would want Boozer's expiring.
I like Taj Gibson but the guy is already closing in on 29. I don't think that would be a good investment in lieu of picks/prospects, given our situation.
I still want the picks, assuming Chicago makes good choices. Taj was signed to a good deal and should hold solid until the end of it. I just like the idea of getting back na solid starter and good defender at a good price. I guess Butler would fill a need at value price. Mirotic's right would not be bad. We could try to bring him over in 2015.
I agree that Taj is on a great deal given his production but is he someone we can build around? Because if he isn't, how much utility can we get from a 29 year old on a rebuilding team? I'd much rather have a combination of picks, Butler and Mirotic instead who come at a lesser salary AND have a longer shelf life instead.
alright,
melo has to go to dallas where he will win a chips with dirk and cuban
they will drop buckets like no other, dirk will just take his passes and drop long and mid rangfe jumpers all day, then if he's not passing out to the threat melo will just take it to the hole and drop it himself,
melo never plays with a guy like dirk, he's gonna be so good in dallas,
who can we get from dallas? no idea and it doesn't matter

You think Butler is going to become a consistent shooter. I like him but I wonder if all he'll be is Ronnie Brewer. It is why I'd be more inclined to move him for a pick (possibly in this draft) than to keep him.

What a bad trade. Trading Melo and getting back the 25th and 30th picks??? Are you kidding me. Why would we do Melo or Houston the favor and trade him and getting back crap?

I want to bail out Morey less. Asik and Lin are bad contracts and I am not sure if the Knicks can get parsons. I think a deal with Chicago might be the best thing for the Knicks if they are doing a sign and trade.

No, we can't build around Taj. But he is starter. If we can get bin and Butler bounces back, we're already two steps into our quick rebuild. We'll still need an impact player one way or the other. Even if the bulls move Boozer, they'd still probably need to trade Gibson to make a play for Melo. I'd like Mitotic too, but I'm not too familiar with his buyout situation and I'm not sure if the Bulls would be willing to give him up. The Bulls will need a young talent at the power forward spot, especially if they give us picks.
How did we go from 50 wins to this??? Wow this sucks, 70 plus year old jackson isn't going to be the prez for too long, the knicks don't have forever to rebuild this thing wing with zen.......

+1 check your smugness at the door and resign the only guy on your team that is worth anything.

It can't be all about Melo all the time
We need a culture change
It's hard for guys to succeed playing with Melo. Especially young unproven players
