Knicks · The difference between Manu and Jr (page 1)

EnySpree @ 6/16/2014 8:58 AM
Between the eyes....

If Jr would grow up he essentially is Manu.... Their skill level is identical. We get Jr Smith to play the way he played down the stretch of last year and the way he played when he won the 6th man of the year, the we have an invaluable talent.

Vmart @ 6/16/2014 9:01 AM
Can you trust Jr. You can't so there right there is the big difference.
Bonn1997 @ 6/16/2014 9:03 AM
I think every current and former Knick is a lot like Manu
NardDogNation @ 6/16/2014 9:12 AM
JR's a Hall of Fame candidate if he were smart...but he isn't. You can't fix stupid, so he'll continue to languish as a fringe 6th man of the year candidate on an already talented team. Give me Manu anyday, Spurs pedigree or no Spurs pedigree.
yellowboy90 @ 6/16/2014 10:21 AM
Euro-step versus step back. That's the difference.
Nalod @ 6/16/2014 10:51 AM
Manu's quest is now one for the thumb while JR is trying to not be so Dumb!!!

THere is no doubt JR has the physical ability to be an all star talent.

Breaking down Manu's game into a statistical analysis is not tht pretty. He also flops, looks like Balki.....
and drives Pop crazy with his daring play. Bottom line is the dudes ball movement and instinct on the court has proven to be brilliant in his career!!
Things you can't always measure.

But you can measure his ring size!!!! This year he was healthy and effective and of course Kawhi matured making up the two biggest factors in this year compared to last.

JR has yet to prove he can handle the pressure of a playoff series. The man has the talent because as an offensive weapon you will draw your opponent.
SAS passing in the paint is brilliant, these guys are passing on instinct.

JR if he is to evolve will need time to adjust and he will look brutal in the process. Maybe he gets it, maybe not.

So one has permission from the refs to travel, while the other prefers to look cool by taking contested Js?

Nalod @ 6/16/2014 11:25 AM
Another difference,

Buying jewlery:

Manu has 4 NBA championship rings.
For his neck, he has one of these:

When JR wants bling, he goes to see Jared!

EnySpree @ 6/16/2014 1:16 PM
I'm saying the guy has a shot now with Phil and Fisher to stop wasting his life being an asshole and become a champion like Manu. Their games are similar. Jr Smith proved he can play good team ball. He's got to stop being an asshole
skeng @ 6/16/2014 1:45 PM
Manu is ALL WORLD. JR couldn't even win in China in his prime.

And I think Manu is the only player to ever win every major championship. Euroleague, Olympics, WC, NBA. Heck if he had time for NCAA he would've won that ish too

mreinman @ 6/16/2014 1:58 PM
JR = Manu(re)

JR will never change his ways. I dont care if jesus Christ was our GM he still couldnt fix JR. Jr had his best year in 2012-13 both as a player and his maturity but it didnt last. Pretty sure Phil cant wait to deal him

how many steps are there to the euro step? do you pick up the dribble and take more than two strides?

if basketball is 90% mental then jr will always be a loser.

So nobody thinks there's any hope for this dude?

You all would rather just repeat the obvious like you all just made it up? Nobody thinks the dudes talent can stand out in system basketball? Nobody thinks Jr Smiths above average ball handling, jumpshot, and potential to get in the paint is not worth shit....all you guys want to do is repost the same joke over and over just worded differently? Blkexec even posted the same non insightful post twice....

You guys are a miserable bunch

He's 28 years old, and will be 29 before the season begins, not 19. If he hasn't figured it out by now, and he clearly hasn't, then he's not going to.
