Knicks · Tyson & Felton to Dallas (page 3)

If this goes thru we get rid of Raymond Felon and Flu Tyson!!! It's not a bad deal anytime we can move these guys and get something back for them. These aren't the deals to bring us back to title contention so people need to lower their expectations of what we could get for these guys.

Knicks get both Dallas 2nd rounders this year???!!!!
gunsnewing @ 6/25/2014 5:38 PM
Wow we can actually watch the draft now
GustavBahler @ 6/25/2014 5:38 PM
Might mean Murry is on his way out with Larkin here.
GustavBahler @ 6/25/2014 5:42 PM
Maybe Phil will try to package these picks to move even higher. Hope there is more before draft night.
gunsnewing @ 6/25/2014 5:42 PM
Dallas just gave us all that for a 28min overrated player wow. They seem confused thinking they are getting the champion Tyson. At least he won't catch the flu as often in Dallas

The beautiful thing is that we have the Westchester Knicks now!!! Before we didn't really have a way of stashing young talent that might not be ready. If they need to send Murry down at least they can have a chance to hold on to him in some way. I think Phil actually likes Murry for his defense. Don't be so quick to assume he's gone.
Knixkik @ 6/25/2014 5:51 PM
Next major move will likely be cutting Dally and making a hard push at Pau Gasol for $5 mil per year.
TeamBall @ 6/25/2014 5:53 PM
I wouldn't cut him until we're sure we can get at least someone better. Without him we literally have no center.

There was interest from other teams, Phil might be able to use that to his advantage. I like Murry but wouldn't mind if he is traded to upgrade the roster.

Phil Jackson is already helping the Knicks...
We usually are on the other end of these deals..This was a steal!

Also.. ESPN is reporting the deal is done..

And we got Wayne Ellington which is an expiring contract we might parlay into something more later on...

CrushAlot @ 6/25/2014 5:56 PM
Yeah. So glad Tyson is gone. Calderon is a huge upgrade over Felton and Calderon and bargs have great chemistry.

Agree. Also, I don't see the upside in Murry that some do.
gunsnewing @ 6/25/2014 5:58 PM
Does Shump get packaged with the picks for a 1st?
newyorknewyork @ 6/25/2014 5:59 PM
I read we got Dallas 2 2nd rounders for next yrs draft as well. Don't know if accurate.
StarksEwing1 @ 6/25/2014 6:00 PM
I am happy with the trade. i used to be big Tyson fan but he reached his peak after his all-star appearance and felton was well..he just sucked lol. I actually liek calderon but i dont like his cap hit for 3 more year. Dalembert is wht he he is and he is a expiring contract. I think larkin can be the steal of this tarde depsite his small size he is a former 1st round pick just last year, ellington is young and could be a good role player. We also get 2 2nd round picks in a deep draft class( 34 and 51 overall} Im not sure what thsi does with melo but if we are able to get another pick or 2 all of a sudden we will have a nice youth movement

Wouldn't call it a steal since we're being saddled with $21M in salary, but we didn't get violated either. The pick #34 is nice tho.

The talent is there and his defense with Shump was the best we had all year last year. He may not end up being anything, but a defensive reserve but every team can use players like that on the bench. If he needs more development so be it. He's cheap and can play in Westchester.
