I think Bosh would look good there and would do well with the 2 big style the Western conference like to use. He would have to pick up his rebounding but maybe McHale would help with that. He could still space the floor but I would like him in the paint more.

It would be a nice addition, but it doesn't address Houston's biggest needs. The rockets need defenders at the wings and a new coach. New uniforms wouldn't hurt either. Maybe freshen up the dance team...

I agree about the coach. I read somewhere that Melo was considering HOuston because McHale was a top 50 player. I don't think they get past the second round with McHale as coach no matter who they add.

I thought Bosh and Wade already signed there deals to return?

I think Playa got kicked off the forum for awhile. Do you think Vasquez is resigned now that the raps have Lowry in place.

i hope so but yes, i think we do. we're still $15+ mil under the tax threshold so he and patterson should be back. he loves the city, is all over the media there saying he wants to come back and he and ujiri have a connection going back to camps when he was in south america.

DJ, Playa melted down again few months back. 9:1 conspiracy theory rants to hoop talk ratio.
It happens.

Glad your still lurking here from time to time!

Chicago also has a few extra draft picks if this list is up to date

2015 first round draft pick from Sacramento
Sacramento's 1st round pick to Chicago (via Cleveland) protected for selections 1-10 in 2015, 1-10 in 2016 or 1-10 in 2017; if Sacramento has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Chicago by 2017, then Sacramento will instead convey its 2017 2nd round pick to Chicago protected for selections 56-60 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Sacramento's obligation to Chicago will be extinguished) [Cleveland-Sacramento, 6/30/2011 and then Chicago-Cleveland, 1/7/2014]

2015 first round draft pick from Cleveland
Chicago has the right to swap its 2015 1st round pick for Cleveland's 2015 1st round pick protected for selections 1-14 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Cleveland's obligation to Chicago will be extinguished) [Chicago-Cleveland, 1/7/2014]

2015 second round draft pick from Portland
Portland's 2015 2nd round pick to Chicago (via Cleveland) [Cleveland-Portland, 6/27/2013 and then Chicago-Cleveland, 1/7/2014]

2016 second round draft pick from Portland
Portland's 2016 2nd round pick to Chicago (via Cleveland) [Cleveland-Portland, 6/27/2013 and then Chicago-Cleveland, 1/7/2014]

my main man patrick patterson aka 2pat re-signs with the raptors. 3 years $18 mil.

he is a big time under the radar stretch 4. was worried someone was going to steal him.

Just saw that. Nice. Ujiri is doing a great job there.

Still can't believe you are paying Landry Fields $8.5mil next season!

Patterson seems to be one of those players that just seems to help teams win- stats aren't amazing, but he seems to have a positive impact (first when he got traded to the Kings, then when he got traded to the Raptors).

i still like fields as a player. he's just been hurt basically his entire time with us. but his defense and team play is on point - he just can't shoot anymore nor stay healthy. he did a good job on joe when casey finally used him in the playoffs and then of course he hurts his back diving for a loose ball and casey couldn't use him the rest of the series.

he may see some minutes next season but he's a 6.2 mil expiring (cap value b/c of the poison pill deal even tho he earns 8.5).

ujiri just dumped that scrub novak to the jazz. opened up another $3.5 mil in cap space the next 2 seasons.

Along with Novak and the two years and $7.2 million left on his contract, the Raptors will send a future second-round draft pick to Utah, sources said. The deal can't be completed until the league's moratorium ends on Thursday.

The Jazz will send the Raptors guard Diante Garrett, who, with a $915,000 non-guaranteed deal for this season, will be waived, sources said.

my god he is good.

wow wtf?? The jazz are really desperate.

And ... Ujiri has got the spell on everyone.

this opens us up to signing greivis back and still using the MLE on someone w/o going into luxury. alot of the buzz is that it's for vince's return although that's just fan talk and i personally don't want to see that. but you never know - we need a backup veteran wing player and vince can still ball.

i'm still amazed how he just dumped novak and his 2 years $7.2 mil on someone. this makes us players in FA soon. if we can win the division again and possibly advance in the postseason...we are a very appealing destination after this season. what's up durant? what you up to? lol...

I wouldn't say desperate they are just not in a rush. There is a minimum limit for teams so they have someone taking up cap space. They are just in a super slow patient rebuild mode.

Wonder what happens with Amir Johnson who has been very efficient the past couple of years and turned 27 years of age at May
Also Greviez Vasquez who is a RFA and was once a walking triple double threat 2 years ago, though on a bad team
Rumor has it that Vasquez is working with Toronto on a contract, either way, I do not see Toronto keeping both Lowry and Vasquez, one likely will be a trading chip in the future if so

They have $13,250,000 in salaries next season though not adding in

Lowry's extension 12 x 4 year (player option for 4th year)
Patrick Patterson's 6m x 3 years
Vasquez ??? I would think it would be in at least the 4m range if resigned for Vasquez, though Uri's skill as a GM includes rotating assets, chips, and negotiating in deals *especially versus the Knick's with CA and selling us AB at over premium/full retail prices, while other teams pay wholesale as comparisons, though NONE are as "talented as CA" at the time but AB trade really bites us in the ass, had we NOT did that trade, we would have plenty of potential deals with those 3 draft picks, possibly even a realistic Pau Gasol or that type of money contract in a trade, of about 10m or slightly under
We payed to get rid of Novak/Camby, while he is getting something back now for Novak in addition to getting rid of AB ,an amnestied target at the time, bringing the trade up to 4 picks now and a trade exemption
He did the same with Raymond Felton/sending him to Portland for a 1st rounder and Andre Miller

Team options in

Jonas Valanciunas
Terrence Ross

1st round pick

Bruno Caboclo (Kevin Durant/Ibaka comparison STASHED, need a couple years to possibly fill out and evaluate first)
He is currently 6-9 with 7-6 wingspan, 205pds and is just 18 years of age

Then again, some here said Ricky Ledo was the next Durant/JR Smith, along with Wiggins as the next Lebron, me included, Iman as Sprewell or at least a YOUNG Tony Allen with the ability to shoot the 3pter and handle the ball better

Then again, Tim Duncan could have been on our roster and not get much PT as a rookie over the favorites of Tyson Chandler, AB, Kmart (if was healthy), our development and lack of systems on OFF and DEF was poor, something I expected to be changed with Phil Jackson here

2nd round pick

DeAndre Daniels who I think is a complete steal, as a SF, who is 6-9, though under 200pds but with over a 7 footers wingspan, and the a very good shooting stroke/3pt 40% shooter with legit NBA range
He must fill out though but he has the potential to be a rebounder/defender/ and 3pt shooter with his wingspan, if developed and works hard, who knows if he can become much better, role players now have Kawaii Leonard to look up to and learn from

In this draft, I really liked both KC McDaniels and DeAndre Daniels, because of their shooting abilities and other skills, though only role player potential at this point
While we have 2 steals of our own, in the end, it depends on if and how they develop, as a Kawaii Leonard type of jump is extremely rare, from role player to MVP in the FINALS in a matter of 2 years

Toronto incoming picks
=============================
2016 first round draft pick from New York
New York will convey the less favorable of its 2016 1st round pick and Denver's 2016 1st round pick to Toronto (via Denver's right to swap for New York) [Denver-Minnesota-New York, 2/22/2011 and then New York-Toronto, 7/10/2013]

2017 second round draft pick from New York
New York's 2017 2nd round pick to Toronto [New York-Toronto, 7/10/2013]

Future 2nd round pick from Utah, unsure of terms, obtained from sending Novak and getting a trade exemption again

Toronto outgoing picks
===============================

2016 second round draft pick to Utah
Utah will receive the less favorable of Boston's 2016 2nd round pick and Toronto's 2016 2nd round pick and Memphis will receive the more favorable of these two picks (via Milwaukee); this potential pick conveyance is the same as the one described in "2016 second round draft pick from Boston" on Utah Credits [Memphis-Toronto, 7/9/2009 and then Boston-Memphis-Oklahoma City, 1/7/2014 and then Memphis-Utah, 6/26/2014]

2016 second round draft pick to Utah
Utah will receive the more favorable of Boston's 2016 2nd round pick and Toronto's 2016 2nd round pick (via Memphis) and Memphis will receive the less favorable of these two picks; this potential pick conveyance is the same as the one described in "2016 second round draft pick from Boston" on Utah Credits [Memphis-Toronto, 7/9/2009 and then Boston-Memphis-Oklahoma City, 1/7/2014 and then Memphis-Utah, 6/26/2014]

Toronto Roster
===================

As of now,

Lowry
Derozan
Ross
Patterson
Valanciunas

Vasquez/ Diante Garrett/ Dwight Buycks
Lou Williams (possibly full recovered and 6th man of year candidate if so)
DeAndre Daniels
Fields
Syko T
Chuck Hayes

Depending on the cap, they can either have the 5m + MLE or the 2m + room exemption
Though they can likely make a trade with the trade exemption, players above, and/or sign another UFA with the cap space

So they have the ability to add 2-3 talented role players, possibly a 2nd tier STAR, depending on the cap set for next year in a couple of weeks
Then there are also the bird rights of

Amir Johnson which could easily put them over the CAP for the full MLE if needed, of the TEAM OPTION of 7m *final year*, or a possible trade with other players like in the Gasol range
Can they acquire a talent like Kevin Love, which would put them on top of our conference for next season if all goes accordingly
IF the gamble on Bruno pays out, which would take at least 2-3 years as he is only 18 years of age, Toronto can be play offs contenders for the next decade, though the East is possibly improving much with their draft picks/cap space

Damjan Rudez | Forward
Team: Indiana Pacers
Age / DOB: (28) / 6/17/1986
Ht / Wt: 6'10' / 201
College: Croatia

comparable to Gordon Hayward with less athleticism but very good handle/ability to penetrate off the dribble/Peja Stojagavic/Turkelo, Mike Millerhis shot is Novak 2.0 and off the dribble + jump shot's, 50% 3pter in Europe

At the 1.1m, that would be a complete steal

If they make a swing for Rhondo and keep Lance, with a hungry HIBBERT, that is pretty damn tough

No one else, likes this move by the Pacer's?
I think they found a gem considering his skill sets, size, and contract

He is a sharp shooter, that can play with and off the ball, a very good handle especially for his size, quick first step, 6-10 and looks strong *is a man not a developing boy entering the NBA*
Looking back at players like Novak, compared to players like this and Danny Green, that extra skill set or skill sets, changes the entire ability of the player and more importantly the entire TEAM
At 1.1m and costing NO DRAFT picks, I think this is easily one of the easy steals of the entire year
