Interesting that rose didnt go to dinner with melo and the others from the bulls organization.
Rose wouldn't go to dinner or entertain LeBron either. As I said in another thread, he was probably pressured to do this workout to show Melo that he isn't damaged goods.
The Bulls must be enticing. There will be some other pretty impressing showings also. Im glad Phil has the last word. My gut feeling is he stays and gets paid. What sucks is Noah and a mostly healthy Rose are the exact formula a guy like Melo needs to win a title. They are all perfect fits for each other. With those two scorers and Noah's passing shredding the defense. Yikes... thats a formidable squad.
It might come down to Phil's next move. He's going to balance the roster. We have a guard glut and some movable guys. Do we land a big fish or just do little things to balance the roster.
Bradley resigns with the Celtics. Celtics have Smart, Rondo and Bradley.
Let's go get Lin back in New York

I gotta say all that fawning over melo makes me cringe. I wouldnt mind having him back(at a discount of course) but im glad Phil would never kiss his rear like the bulls have. I man a player like lebron or durant i would understand
If you want to cringe even more than you thought was humanly possible, read the Pacers plans for wooing Lance! They've made a movie of his life and are inviting him and all his family and friends to watch it at a theatre- awful!

The Bulls are already a strong team without Melo if Rose holds up. Adding Melo would make them very dangerous and capable of dethroning the Heat in the east if Melo embraces their philosophy. I understand why they are pulling out all the stops to get him and I would do the same thing.
Brian Windhorst pointed out that no players came to greet LeBron when he was making his "decision". They learned their lesson and this time they aren't taking any chances. Smart move when Melo could be the piece that puts them over the top before Rose and Noah are beyond repair.
Honestly if I were the Bulls, I'd just sign their draft pick from this year, that overseas draft pick from last year, and target a lower key free agent, plus a cheap PG like Steve Blake, and be done with it- I think they'd improve just as much if not more than if they signed Melo but traded away some of their players/prospects.

We have too many guards now to make that even feasible. I hate Morey also.

Morey is a class act.
I'm not a big Lin fan, but that is an absolutely classless move, but then again Morey is an absolute d***!

I like Bradley, but thats a lot of money- not sure what the Celtics are up to with all those guards...

Don't believe they can afford to wait on some rooks to develop with Rose's knees and Noah killing himself to keep the Bulls afloat while Rose was out. The western conference has lots of young teams who will only get better. The Bulls are right to try and make use of what peak years Rose and Noah have left. Melo can take the heat off of Rose and give him less of the burden offensively like few players can. Just what they need.

How did he get that much?! He has been garbage for years and only cares about money!
