Im thinking help at the 4 position with Amares health never certain as of right now we have 13 roster spots taken and maybe 14 if we keep S Brown. Maybe we make trades? maybe we dont--jut dealing with what we have
Wow I didnt realize the roster was that close to being full. I think Phil might make a trade or Tyler might get waived. Also, the Greek kid looks like he could help in limited minutes. Berman said the Knicks also had their 2.2 bi-annual because they didn't spend it.

The knicks need to cash in one of those shooting guards for a 3/4 imo.
You can't call Shump a small fwd...Melo isn't a power fwd...These guys have to play their traditional position and leave the power fed and small fwd job to guys that typically pay that role. That's how you breakdown defensively. If you want to experiment in game with adjustments that's fine but not to start a game. Haven't we already learned that watching woodson coach this team?
I'd like to see K-Mart back.

I like K-Mart but not sure if he can take a full season anymore.
IMHO we need to evaluate Jeremy Tyler and explore adding another big to the mix of bargs, amare, cole and dalembert.
we do need a 4/3 guy with experience behind Melo...I would love to get Matt Barnes for a year or two.

I think he can, just need better time management. The first start would be to decrease Melo's minutes from 40 minutes a night. I also think we should kick the tires on Andre Blatche.

Yeah father time caught up with him. Shame cuz he still can play, just can't stay healthy

Remember the year before last year he came in late in the season and i think that helped him because he was fresh. However last year he broke down in a full season

I think his presence on the bench is his biggest asset. We're kind of soft and we need a few guys with fire in their belly. Udonis Haslem would be my first choice, but he ain't leaving Miami.

Well you can sign K-Mart to the minimum. They need to use the mini MLE on a player that they need a bit more on teh court since we have no cap space again
Dejuan Blair is available. Patrick Patterson, Anthony Tolliver and DJ white.
K Mart just needed some clean up work done. He'll be fine. He's got a live body and if not for the bits of debris in his ankle he was just fine. This happens to a lot of players over the course of a career. They may need to get a joint cleaned out.
We have to be realistic in terms of the players who can be in a 10 man rotation. We can't play everyone. Outside of a trade there's only so many guys we can fit into the rotation.
Didn't we have the use part of it to re-sign Aldrich? Waiting to see what that contract looks like.

I agree with the help at the four .. Your starting 5 is weird...
Although I like brags at the 5 he suits the roster as a back up 4
C-Aldrich,Sammy,brags
Pf-amare,brags,Tyler
Sf-melo,shump,early
Sg-jr,thjr,Ellington
Pg-Jose,Larkin,Pablo
Aldrich will win the starting 5 spot I'm almost certain of this he's our best center in terms of rebounding, shot blocking, and doing all the dirty work
Also melo although dose well at the four, he is not a 4 and at 30 and 5 years committed we need to be carful with him he seems to get injured playing the four. Plus we play the best when amare is in the starting line up with melo because he's our best second option..the proof is the last 20 or so games. with amare starting we played the best all year. Fisher will start amare
Thirdly as I like prigs he will more then Likely be the third pg off the bench..Larkin is a better option off the bench as he is quicker and can keep the defender in front of him something Pablo struggles with.
People seem to have their favorite roster arrangement. Mine is more traditional:
C - Dalembert, Aldrich
PF- Amare, Bargnani
SF- Carmelo, Cleanthony
SG- Smith, THJ, Shumpert, Ellington
PG- Calderon, Prigioni, Larkin
Something definitely has to be done at SG. Who should go?
PF and C are super thin and Tyler isn't the answer. Who could be?

This is how I see the team....
we definitely need another big and possibly more experience behind Melo.
I believe in Dalembert tho. He and Cole are a solid tandem. Knicks definitely need another big. I was hoping for that to be Jeremy Tyler. We've got to see what he does in summer league.
Thanasis needs to make the Knicks roster. I maintain that Shump needs to go to improve a spot we need help in.

I like your line up but I think Aldrich beats out Sammy. At this stage of Sammy's career Aldrich is the better rebounder and rim protector as well as superior passing skills which is important for the triangle
As far as free agents...
Shawn Marion is old but still can play. We could use the veteran leadership behind Melo at the 3 and backup 4 options. He's pretty versatile passing and handling. His jumper is hideous but he makes them. He could be had cheap for a year or two.
Evan Turner lost alt of money after getting traded to indiana. We might be able to steal him as a back up swing man.
ed Davis is available too... This dude has shown alot but not given a chance to do it consistently at the power fwd spot.
Emeka okafor jumps out at me. He hasn't played in years. If he's still interested and motivated to play, he could be a very minimum guy.
Michael Beasley? Didn't he play well with Minnesota? We're they running the triangle at the time?
