Whoever is the best defender among SGI'm surprised you even think Melo should start, haha.
Papabear SaysHe is like flees on a dog very annoying and cant go away. A simple question was asked about who will be your choice for the starting line up. Nothing else. If we win a championship with Melo and Melo gets the Mvp he would not give even the championship recognition because of his hate for Melo. For him its personal and borderline of being sick. He can't help himself thats why no one trust what he says.
it's "fleas," pops.
and i gave my lineup just like everyone else did LOL. aldrich over dalembert and bargnani (hold your nose and pray) over stoudemire.
but since you like to pile on after the whistle, i will assert this: <meh>lo's contract is ridiculous and disgusting. he is a pretty good scorer-- no argument there-- but close to a zero-sum player because he is inadequate as a defender.
maybe the triangle helps his game become more legit, especially as a ball over and occasional playmaker. but he'll never be the mvp of a title team. are you kidding me?
and then there's those shoulders....
Papabear Says
Man I feel sorry you. Thats all I can say.
save your pity for losers, even the ones making 100s of millions.

A loser? Making 100 million ? No the loser is you. You spend all day and all night complaining about a man who don't even know you exist. Now thats a loser. You got job?
I don't think so. Go ask Melo for a few bucks.

carmelo anthony's fundamental flaw is that he does not understand UBUNTU.
it's a team game. UBUNTU.
merely getting paid-- me first-- don't cut it. you get paid to win. getting paid makes you rich but don't make you a winner. there's no shame in losing unless you insist on pretending otherwise.
sorry you haven't figured that out yet at your advanced age. don't know how this even needs explaining. UBUNTU.

Close to zero sum? Interesting. Check out his WARP.
However, accept it and move on, he had a no trade clause and if you are a NYKs fan, accept it and move on especially if you believe in Phil Jackson
In this league, we need All STARs, to attract other All STARS, while I hoped we could have signed him for less, Phil Jackson, knew that if we didn't overpay for him, we would lose him for nothing
He could have traded him for a combination of talents with Bulls/Rockets for expirings and assets but would rather keep him
I understand that cap space is important but Phil Jackson has added youth and started changing the roster, and in the process of instilling a "winning culture"
I am happy with the way the young guys are buying in the system/philsophies in the summer league
Felt Iman Shumpet should have been part of these young guns possibly even JR Smith so he can get back to his TOP shape
Next up is our vets buying in and if CA can accept playing in a system, hopefully after this contract and a no trade clause he no longer feels the need to fill up the STAT sheets, emphasizing Winning above all
If he can become a real leader with the above, it would help justify his contract and status in the league
No doubt CA has the talent to do so, eith Fisher and Phil Jackson being firm about TEAM PLAY, BALL/PLAYER movement, Efficient scoring, POST PLaY, especially to initiate the offense
With Fisher, I love the things he says and I feel he really means it
He had the luxury to work with Durant/Westbrook, as well as Kobe/SHaQ, and Kobe/Gasol/Odom etc, as well as playing for Sloan, another elite coach that is under rated to go with Phil Jackson
Let's move on, evolve, and be happy Dolan is out of the picture
No point in responding back to others that can not accept this
Maybe Lin returns on a cap friendly contract next summer, making ammends with NYKs, CA, and JR, who knows...

Agree very much with everything. Melo leaving would have been a disaster. Just look at the Lakers being left high and dry by dwight. In general, it will take them a long time to recover.

Melo's deal will have zero impact in the next CBA. Meanwhile is Phil adding old niche players to help a Carmelo led team? No.. he added a floor general in Calderon and a good lunch pail center in Dalembert. Every other move has been youth youth and more youth.
We start the new era with an elite scorer in the triangle offense and a GM looking add youth to a staff built to develop it, and guys STILL cant get past their silly hate. These donkees are still hung up on losing Gallo for phucks sakes.

I think we should try to develop him this year. Pablo is not or long term solution. If we invest the tone in Larkin and get him the exposure he will need we may not have to go looking for Pablo ' s replacement same time next year. I am hoping this kid can start at some point.
meloshouldgo wrote:agree, but three PGs is pretty much the NBA standard, and Prigs is a good bench player. I think he's a guy who can really do well in this system. He's also a pro. I think with Calderon/Larkin/Prigs we are good at PG. Its the JR/THrj/Shump/Ellington/Thanis logjam that needs to be broken up.CrushAlot wrote:meloshouldgo wrote:Wow no one even mentions Larkin

Don't bother the man with statistics. Unless you are dividing dollars by body parts.

you have to admit, your dog probably can't spellcheck, though.
I think STAT and Bargs will be playing for their BB lives. If either wants to get another contract they must have big seasons. I think this is the best chance for that to happen given the system puts the ball in the bigs hands more often. It's a good fit.
Thanasis will likely end up in the D League. Not sure what they'll do about Shannon Brown. He serves a purpose now for the kids, but not sure how he'd fit with the big club. Ellington is likely a player they'll look to move in a trade. The next trade is going to be interesting. Just how will Phil look to fix our roster imbalance?

Larkin is miles ahead of felton already. and any other PG we have. And man his hands are quick in the passing lanes. Sad to see that T.A. couldn't perform well. He needs to have a talk with his younger brother on picking his spots, unless he feels that if the Knicks kick him to the curb, someone else will pick him up. Potential is potential and on defense, we can already see his potential if channeled correctly. On offense, he doesn't take/get many shots and is a willing passer to a fault... kinda like Prigs was. But it's obvious he still raw. Probably 1 year away from solid contributions anywhere in the NBA.
