Felton had his moments. What we really saw the last 2 years was that with Kidd or Prigs Felton was OK. He simply couldn't hold down the floor leader role we needed. It was clear as day that when Felton had a good game it changed the way this team performed, but too often he was unable to play at a high enough level. Phil was able to sit and watch the team floor chemistry, learn about the locker room issues and ascertain just what was wrong with the team. With what Phil has done we should get much more consistent play at the PG spot.
I was very irritated with how Felton would often freeze out Bargs or STAT even when it was clear they were going good. A PG like Jose will know how to spread the ball around and feed the hot man as well. Jose just has a more natural feel for the game and how to run a team. Not that he's gonna be handling the ball like a Steve Nash, cuz that's not what happens in the Triangle. However when the PG does have the ball you want to know you can trust his decision making.

He played extremely well for 3 months, got hurt, he came back and his play started slipping, he got traded, and has been well below avg ever since.
I keep harping on this but Felton flourished under Dantoni and when we played dantoni's offense during 54 wins until it became the Melo ISO show. Felton's skill set are perfectly suited for Dantoni's offense. Can't shoot, can run a team like a true pg but is WAS good at pushing the ball down the court and pick n rolls. Dantoni made Chris Duhon look like an Allstar come on!

Calderon is a top 20 PG even with his flaws. On this team he should make a huge impact on the offense. It will be very interesting to see how Fish wants the team to play defense tho. I think this team should consider a zone for stretches of the game. They have some poor defenders that need to be hidden as much as possible.
