The pick wasn't ours to begin with...The Kings value the "pieces" they received so much that they're discarding both of them. Get a grip.

Yeah, I'm not sure if things will ever click for Tyler. The game moves faster than he can react, which renders him expendable. He did himself a major disservice by dropping out of high school because finishing his senior year and going to college might have given him the opportunity to gradually amp up his acuity for the game. Instead he went from 0mph to 500mph in the blink of an eye. In any case, the triangle was a poor fit for him because of these reasons....he should go to a team like the Bucks or Sixers where he can get plenty of playing time to hone his abilities.

The pick already belonged to the kings. The kings are waiving both guys they get in the trade. The deal for the Kings was for cap space. They have too many power forwards already. The kings extended the date for when Acy's contract had to be picked up. It probably was done so they could move him.

Go look at Phill jacksons championship rosters, they were far from talented, besides scottie, shaq, kobe, and MJ, everyone else knew there role and fit in so nicely..

Imo though I think Phil has something he can get done at anytime, but is bolstering the bench first.
2) Tyler vs Acy is a near wash, getting a bit smaller and more defensive. I think one thing people missed was that Tyler is a UFA after this season, Acy is a RFA. In that regard, he has more asset value off the court (assuming all other things are relatively equal). For me, I liked the youthfulness of Tyler and wanted to see him develop. I think that is somewhat replaced with Acy.
3) 2016 pick no longer protected. I guess if we fall into the lottery in 2016 and get a pick 1-8 (and give them both up), the sky will truly have fallen. Given that we have a 2015 target for our capspace, if this was what was necessary to get a deal done, ok. I dont really believe we gave anything up. That said, the toss in of picks is a bad habit. I am not sure why this deal could not get done without the toss in.
Looking forward to seeing Acy's energy. Where does he project in the rotation?

He'd likely be a backup pf or even sf since he has been working on his jumper with OK range.
i think the deal was made entirely for him, although Outlaw might be a pleaseant suprise if Phil and Fish can bring him back from a long slumber.

A 37th pick is a somewhat high second rounder
This would only go to a team who had a bad record 2015-2016
So if we were bad this season we'd keep it, if we were good they get it
What I mean by good, in the playoffs.
Technically they could have received the pick even if we missed the playoffs[8th worst record]
