It does not have youtube I believe and some other channels. but...we are primarily a Netflix family right now and it was going to my 3rd TV with only 1 hdmi so this is a good option for me.

Best Buy has it for 34.99. That is a great deal. I do think the roku 3 is worth the money and I am pretty frugal.

I got the roku 3 then took it back to get two roku 1s. I only really use Netflix and Hulu. I need to learn about how to use the roku for more than just those two things.

I wanted to get the roku 2 with the wired connection but I was a bit impulsive and didn't want to wait. I have the roku one also. There is a big difference in picture quality and at times there is no lag. My plan was to drop cable and go with o t a broadcasts, playon and roku channels. My wife loves cable so we haven't made the switch.

I actually have the Roku Streaming Stick as my first purchase. I love it. Picture quality is really good. We also have a PS3 and stream netflix there. Pic quality is a lot better.

Nice. I don't think our tvs accommodate the stick but I was wondering how it worked. Rokus are awesome.

It plugs into the hdmi port, its everything the roku 1 is but better because its smaller. The draw back is you have to have a hdmi port unlike the roku 1. If it wasn't for uptv and espn I think I would be of cable too.

I had the streaming stick and didn't like it. It was slow. Chromecast is a pretty good option if you want to Netflix or youtube. There are a bunch of casting apps that let you cast other streams/files.

I want to cut cable to see if I can do it. No other reason. My cable bill is low with triple play. Sports and news are big factors. I want ESPN and my wife wants CNN which makes it impossible to cut the cord. If I can figure out how to get the news streaming live, I will sacrifice ESPN.

Verizon just raised my bill from $83 to $109 per month for basic cable and internet. That finally pushed me over the edge. I am cutting the cord. I have Hulu and Netflix. Will just go get NBA LEague Pass and use VPN. Now deciding what internet speed to get. Might get the Optimum 100 for $54.99

Verizon did not want to lose me. They gave me an awesome deal. Fios 50/50 quantum Internet with free router for $46.98 a month. Woohoo! Now need to get NBA league pass and vpn to watch my Knicks.

No way in hell or Hempstead the family that started HBO and Cablevision is going to bring MSG to Roku before the traditional cable model totally collapses.

Have MSG for the first time since I left NYC, was great getting the coverage again, and seeing the shows posters were talking about. You can get local channels from NYC with certain DirectTV packages, buts its already expensive with NBA league pass, NFL Sunday Ticket, and the sports package. Wish there was an a la carte service.

I have a new service which is all fiber optics right to the house!!!!
I have amazingly fast internet. But.......

That alone would be $99 a month. I could stream video and get great results. But thats expensive alone.
They discount basic cable and bundle it with internet for $99. Rentals of 4 boxes, DVR on one TV and various taxes and unserfees got my bill to $151 per month. They don't offer league pass but I could get an apple/Ruku/fire box and get that. We use Netflix to round out.

Im going to have a busy winter and not sure I can commit to even watching half a season on TV. Knicks will be on national broadcasts plenty and I'm fine paying for games at $6 per game to fill in for games I want to see.
