Oh Thank god for hockey and the Rangers

lol... never thought I'd see the day that someone said that
SupremeCommander@ 9/9/2014 11:29 AM
i think Jerry Reese is so friggin overrated... he got a solid roster and nailed his first draft but that was because he was formerly the scouting director and you SHOULD nail a draft if you were formerly in charge of scouting.
He has shown no ability to build a fleshed out roster
dk7th@ 9/9/2014 11:30 AM
reese did a great job his first couple of seasons.
i don't understand how the giants can't prioritize their offensive line and tight end corps. seems like they have always won with a great o-line and tight ends. and why is their secondary always so lousy? i don't get it.
gunsnewing@ 9/9/2014 11:35 AM
agreed
The one positive last night was the TE Larry Donnell looked pretty good with Eli. I was pissed they didn't bring in a top notch TE, Most great teams today have a super athletic TE that causes all kinds of matchup problems. Eli would benefit with a major safety blanket since he is not very mobile.
Hopefully Donnell has enough athleticism and hopefully Corey Washington provides Eli with that big target he hasn't had since Plexico

I think it all starts at the offensive line. Giants had a good one when they won in 07 & again in 08 until Plexico shot himself. You don't ever want to hear about the O-line. If you don't hear anything it means they are doing their job.
Eli was under pressure all night. How is that possible. And how did we draft a WR over O-Line or TE?
Reece really does leave you scratching your head
They spent so much money on the secondary and they were awful last night.
They have ZERO pass rushers which has been their strength. Zero because JPP looks finished
Running game should be better but man what a mess
gunsnewing@ 9/9/2014 11:44 AM
Also Eli's days in New York might be numbered. He is too much of a cap hit for his inefficient production and age
NYKBocker@ 9/9/2014 12:10 PM
I think Reese has done a piss poor job but with the 2 SuperBowl rings I am giving them this year. In the offseason if another losing season then he should be let go.
EnySpree@ 9/9/2014 12:15 PM
Giants aren't a bad organization. You gotta stop talking Like they are the Knicks. Giants just won a superbowl in 2011. Take a chill pill
gunsnewing@ 9/9/2014 12:24 PM
Detroit missed the playoffs last year too
They have a better offensive coordinator better QB better WRs better RBs better TEs better front 7 on defense
The Giants have a long road ahead of them
Vmart@ 9/9/2014 12:46 PM
No but I do think they should rehire Gilbride. Giving a job to an unproven commodity in MacDoo was not a good move. I do think Reece should be fired though.
I take that back.

I can't say I followed the draft, but if your problem is on the o line - and last year they proved it - then why not use every pick on an offensive lineman - maybe you'll find a gem in there somewhere.
Instead, they have turd.
Moonangie@ 9/9/2014 2:15 PM
Reese should have taken Zach Martin with our pick, but he went for a WR. As previously mentioned, I'm willing to give Ben and Eli a short leash to prove this new offense can work.
Our defense sucked last night, but I think they will be damn good this year. I'm giving them a flyer for now as well.
I think we have a potentially solid run-stopping defense and a potentially impregnable secondary. Pass rush leaves something to be desired.
Jennings looks legit. The new TE Donnell made some nifty catches last night.
As for Eli, he DID win two Superbowls. If he keeps making stupid mistakes by the fourth or fifth game, I'm ready to hand things over to Nassib, who looked impressive in the pre-season.

Their special teams and secondary was better too. In 2011 the Giants were better than everybody. This is sports. Giants always do right by us. Teams are entitled to have bad stretches.
I would say we are in need of a new quarterback. Giants need to get healthy and gain some chemistry. Next draft they need to stockpile the line in both sides. We need to draft a qb too.... though I think this kid nassib will get his chance soon if Eli keeps regressing
Nalod@ 9/10/2014 7:10 AM
OMG, what will media ride us to think if Knicks start 3-10?
gunsnewing@ 9/14/2014 3:57 PM
0-2 smh
Metlife Stadium Cardinals start their backup and still win
earthmansurfer@ 9/14/2014 4:14 PM
Wow, I tuned in for some of the second half and Cruz had 3 drops (2 costly that I saw) and then another receiver had a huge drop towards the end as well. Key fumbles. What a disaster of a game, and Eli was REALLY ON...
In other news, life goes on...
dk7th@ 9/14/2014 5:22 PM
Manning has a TE to work with at least. Cruz and special teams killed the team today. Turnovers too. That's coaching. Coughlin needs to have a chat with his entire staff.
