Knicks · Record Predictor (page 1)

My prediction: 41-41 and the 8th seed. That's assuming Bargnani barely plays. If Bargs does play regular minutes for 50+ games we'll probably only win 35 games and miss the playoffs. As for the rest of the East:

1. Cleveland
2. Chicago
3. Toronto
4. Atlanta
5. Washington
6. Charlotte
7. Brooklyn
8. NYK
9. Detroit
10. Miami
11. Indiana
12. Boston
13. Orlando
14. Milwaukee
15. Philadelphia

if we don't make the playoffs, then I would like them to stink the joint up and land a high lottery pick.

Right now, I'd be surprised if we won as many games as last year because we have too many mismatched pieces on this team and no real identity. However, it's a long season and that could change over time. There are simply too many teams in the east that are better than we are and, subsequently, seem to have our number. For those reasons, if we managed to win half of our games I'd be pleasantly surprised.

as i have been saying for months, on defensive liability alone they are in a 6-7 game hole. that makes it 34-35 games. to counteract that they have to be a top-5 offensive team to reach .500. a top-3 offensive team would put them at around 45 games and a possible division crown.

alas, from what i have read here over the preseason, they are not-- in any way, manner, shape, or form-- going to be a top-5 offensive team and are not likely to round out as one as the season progresses-- sight unseen.

i predict 35 wins, because fisher is a leader and won't let them completely implode like they did last year because of no leadership. i had hopes for jackson when he seemed ready to play hardball with anthony early on, but then he gave anthony that ridiculous contract, reducing the campaign to a game of smoke and mirrors. it would have been better to not sign carmelo anthony, challenge the fanbase instead of pander to it... and simply cleaned house.

when the knicks stink it up who is going to want to come to new york in 2015-2016?

jr smith, anthony, bargnani, stoudemire-- they don't belong in a knick uniform.

Dagger @ 10/26/2014 12:25 AM
I say right around 41-41

37.

Because I'm a giddy optimist.

46-50 wins and they win the Atlantic Div. Fish, Rambis and Cleamons with continue to coach these players up and with great detail teach them all the things they need to know in order to play to the best of their abilities as a team. The team makes continuous progress. JR and Bargs both eventually show they can be effective in this system.

From Berman on JR:
Smith, who is suffering from periodic back spasms, isn’t minimizing his woes. For all his eccentricities, he’s also been the most stand-up guy in the Knicks locker room for three years.

Huge statement. That locker room had Tyson and for one year Kidd. Not sure that JR was the most stand up guy on the 54 win team but still that is a huge statement from Berman.

41-45. Lots of losses early, team them burns out the starters trying to catch up, then falter at the end.
H1AND1 @ 10/26/2014 9:26 AM
~35 wins

The leadership we have on this team won't allow the starters to be burned out. Fish won't do it. This team is going to use it's bench and find ways to get guys rest either by taking rest days from practice or regular games. I just don't see Fish Grinding his players if he can use his bench to give his starters a blow. I think the time to try and find rest is against weaker opponents. You can try to stretch the bench a bit more IMO.

He is definitely the guy we need to target.....Would be perfect for the Triangle...

Nalod @ 10/26/2014 1:41 PM
Im going Schoen............

No hate, no koolAide, just keeping it real. If this team is ever to contend you gotta reboot.
This is a multiyear project.

38 wins....Too many question marks as we approach the start of the season. Health Issues (Bargs,Stat, JR), inexperience coach (though I love the hire of Fish and think he'll be a really good coach down the road), Tough schedule out of the gate, and to be honest, our overall talent just doesn't stack up to most of the teams in the east that will be competing for a playoff spot.
IronWillGiroud @ 10/26/2014 1:57 PM
52 wins and conference finals, we are feeling goo about this team,

Melo will eat a lot of good food in e triangle

Knixkik @ 10/27/2014 10:58 AM
41-45 wins. 6th or 7th place. I do think we have a great shot at the atlantic though. Toronto is going into the season overrated. But at the least we have to beat out BK and finish second in the atlantic and in the 6th or 7th spot.
