It's a no brainer for the Knicks. Not sure how the Lakers would feel about this

You should take Phil and Jeannie Buss out for a drink and ask them that question.

I would take Kobe in a trade if it was like this:

LA trades- Kobe, (unpro.) 1st rd pick, 2 future 2nd rd picks, and Lin

NY trades- Amar'e, Jr Smith, Calderon

The Lakers are giving up the best player. Why would they also be giving up picks?

Kobe now is not worth trading for without getting compensation. LA gets out from under Kobe's contract and shadow.

You think Kobe would give NY a discount

After what he just received from L.A. Pre Boom New CBA

This washed up better than he think he is Bum

Needs to break the All-Time scoring record and hang em up

That's all he's playing for right now

Do I think Kobe would give the Knicks a discount. Hell no!

Amare+ JR for Kobe...thats perfect for both teams

Scratch what I said....this is a perfect trade for me without the 2 future 2nd round picks(Not good for Lakers part of Buisness) We get an efficient starting PG and accomplished Shooting Guard and they get 3 quality starting players, I honestly cannot find anything wrong with this.

None of those outgoing players, save for Calderon, start for us. Now all of a sudden they are "quality starters"? Come on man, that deal is horrible for the Lakers.

You are acting as though Kobe isn't capable of playing like a franchise player and isn't moving billions of merchandise for that team. No one is lining up to watch Ronnie Price or Nick Young.

NardDogNation @ 10/28/2014 11:20 PM
...do we take Carlos Boozer if we trade for Kobe? Not like the Lakers would need him without Kobe. Between those two and Melo, we'd have one of the worst defensive teams in the league but our offense would be one of the better ones in the league.

"Now we see why Carmelo Anthony wanted no part of this mess.''

They cheered Jeremy Lin through a dreadful one-for-five night, they cheered rookie Jordan Clarkson's one shot — a three-pointer — like it was as game-winner, they chanted "Dee-fense" even as the team was getting the "Steam-Rolled,'' but they had to be pondering…

"It's obvious why Pau Gasol took less money to go to Chicago.''

The team is betting on Bryant being entertaining enough to keep fans interested for the next two seasons.

If Tuesday is any indication, they are going to lose that bet, and lose it big.

Why do we want this, always? Former star washed up to end career as a cripple with Knicks. This nightmare is on repeat, we have to break this cycle as a team and as a fan base.

Nothing good can come from Kobe any longer.

Hey, let's sign Steve Francis or Glenn Rice! Its like a recurring nightmare.

Huge difference between Kobe & Francis/Rice

They need to get Kobe's money off the books...no getting around that. They can be a door mat for a few years...but at least they can do it quietly. With Kobe there it's like a death by fire.

EnySpree @ 10/29/2014 2:35 PM
Tonight we're starting Jason Smith, Melo, Dalembert, Calderon and Shump....

If we could really clear 2 bench guys in Bargs and Amare and plug them in with Jordan Hill and Kobe?

new line up Jordan Hill, Melo, Dalembert, Calderon and Kobe....

Why would the Lakers do that? Cap space!!! Why is that not a good enough answer for some of you?

H1AND1 @ 10/29/2014 4:40 PM
How about we trade for Kobe to install him as Player/Coach and demote Fisher to top assistant?!

Bueller, Bueller?

mreinman @ 10/30/2014 4:58 PM
we got to get this facilitator
