Up 21 - 10 and I still knew we were going to blow this game. That must make me a real Giants fan.
And yet I hear we're not even making the playoffs this year, the bum. Coming into camp hurt and not in premium shape! What irresponsibility! Trade him now!
[This is sarcasm]
I'm no giants fan, but during his pre game work outs he was catching everything with one hand..About 15 minutes before he caught that pass they showed him catching passes like that prior to kick off
stickum or gloves that is the greatest catch i have ever seen. giants needed a special receiver, big play receiver like him.
At the NFL combine his hands measured 10.0 inches long. Of the 48 wide receivers at the combine, Beckham had the fifth-largest hands, despite the fact that he was one of the shorter wide receivers there at 5 feet, 11 inches. He has bigger hands than Martavis Bryant of the Steelers (who is 6-foot-4) and Mike Evans of the Buccaneers (6-foot-5).
He told ESPN earlier in November that he wore size 3XL gloves. After the game, he credited his long fingers specifically for the catch:
I guess I've got to thank my mom for the long fingers. Her hands are maybe a half-inch shorter than mine. I know I felt [the ball] it in those two fingers and I tried my best to pull it in.

Brought up the gloves because of how he was able to snag it.
I remember the use of "stickum" in the past. The gloves are also providing some insulating warmth, which further helps people who hold or catch the ball, though.
Still, few could make that grab in the same situation.
Jets were interested in him. Wish they had not had that run at the end of last year.
I think teams will start to go after him physically. Would not be surprised if some DB took a penalty to get him with a head to head shot.
Might not want him returning any kind of kicks as his success as a receiver grows.
He said the right thing after the game... the catch means little if not within the context of a victory.
I am a Jet fan, but I do root for the Giants, especially against Dallas.
Manning's terrible pass that went off the hands of his receiver and was intercepted, and a D rush that would have allowed me to complete some passes killed them. Played well enough, for the most part, to deserve a victory.

One thing about the Giants is that they seem to strike gold on real good recievers constantly. Even Cruz was undrafted I believe and we all know how he turned out. I know Jerry reese gets a lot of grief but he has helped bring 2 super bowls in 6 years and it could be worse you could have John Idzik
Please send that memo to Rueben Randle
Uhhh, give 99% of the population a pair of those gloves and they still ain't making that catch...

its impossible to get every one right if that happened the giants would win every year. However they have ben real good at developing WR's

Now if they could just draft a couple of Chris Snee clones and a solid LT, plus a couple of bona fide OLB studs, we should be all set for another run. We have an electrifying WR corps, ditto for our defensive backfield. Eli still gots enough to get us a chip with a little real protection. And Jennings looks legit.
I think you bring everyone back except Fewell and the special teams coach. Maybe reach out to Spags. He will get the most out of the defensive line
Obviously you need to fix the O-Line but they must re-establish themselves as a superbowl caliber defense. They must get back to rushing the passer. They have done a terrible job getting pressure on the QB the past 2 1/2 seasons.
The Giants don't need elite LB's as much as they need to re-establish an elite pass rushing attack.
They've lost all these games the pass 3yrs because they lose the battle in the trenches, at the line. So heading into the draft it is essential they make
O-Line & D-Line the priority. They need better run blocking. The run game with Jennings & Williams is sufficient enough if you actually open up lanes for them to run.
Don't reach for another offensive player.
Giants are set offensively at QB, WR, TE & RB. Fix the trenches!
WaltLongmire wrote:Great catch, but he does not make it without the gloves they are allowed to wear these days.In my mind, because of all the restrictions they put on defenders, and in this case, the technology they now use to design receiving gloves, we are watching a period where you can say that the pass and catch numbers being produced are on PEDs, and it is not even fair to compare the numbers from this period with those of previous times.
they use stickums back in the day

Exactly, and especially the O-line.

Spot on. Agreed bring back Spags and build that O-line.
