There isnt a team in the league that wouldn't pay Amare at minimum mid level type money. There's no chance he accepts a salary of 9 mil for 3years AND one of those measley years being non guaranteed.
Amar'e should not be defined by his first five years as a Knick. He must stay and bulletproof his legacy.
It's time to get off the carousel of losing people. Cut ties with Amare and move on, we've seen enough of this guy in his 5 years of robbing us blind.

Because he was injured, cmon come better then that. Im not defending him either, i couldn't careless weather he stay or goes. But don't sit up there and say his 5 yrs was worthless..
Re-sign Amar'e at all costs. Bring in Hakeem as head coach. Run all plays through Amar'e. Melo will have to adapt. Restore the rightful order.

His 5 years were nearly worthless and he's contributed little more to this franchise than eddy curry. That is my opinion.
I tend to prefer a player who is less skilled on offense, but won't kill us on defense. We already have defensive ineptitude on the team and I would prefer to not resign Stat due to the medical risk. I'll go with Hardaway as our offensive only player. If we are really going to go for it all, we can't afford 1 way players with bad knees.
Move the franchise to Tel Aviv. Sign Amar'e as Player Coach/Team Rabbi. Team outings will include communal therapeutic baths in the Dead Sea.

Plus hes tough and has a good attitude. Its important to keep as many "productive" players as we can during the purge. Anyone can break his cahones--hes solid every game. Hes not a C and gets graded by D as one. But he is a tough solid post player who scores and rebounds plays very very hard. Id like to keep him--I really do not think he is a down piece hes just paid way too much for 20 minutes.
totally agree with you here. Glad to see we've settled the "Can Amare and Melo play together" argument. Too bad, I think he's more likely to receive $12MM/year. My gut tells me Phil is going to make his own signings... but we'll see.

It has been except to him. But I wont say he robbed the team, he signed what they offered.

From a PF no less
And when we re-sign Amar'e, the contract must have NO INSURANCE! We cannot afford to rub Amar'e the wrong way or he's gone, not after all he has done for this franchise.

You are 100% correct. He contributed heavily to exactly one half season of winning. After that, he hasn't done jack ish.
People always want to lionize this guy as if him accepting 100 million dollars from Dolan was some act of benevolence that put the Knicks back on the map. Bullcrap. The guy has earned exactly 1 half of one year of that salary. The rest was flushed down the toilet. Cant stand Amare. The definition of a guy who talks loud and says nothing.

Unless Amar'e comes anhored with a Chris Stoudemire relative
So he can double dip on contracts "Do Not Betray Us" style then I/////
DO NOT WANT!

Your wish shall be Phil's command. Just give it a few weeks. After all he is already known as Santa "No Trade" Claus

well if he's been worthless so has everyone that's played with him since he got here, there certainly would be no melo, no tyson, no kidd, no rasheed, no KT and 54 win 2nd rnd season. Because each and everyone of them said the sign on because of amare.
If melo didn't sign, just think, gallo and chandler have been injury prone, felton had one good season, and mosgov was a project. we would have been in the lottery the last 4 seasons, and lets name some of the draft picks that have taked their team to the playoffs.....wake me up when figure them out

Imagine 2 or 3 of them on the same team
Let me guess If Sacto called us up and said
We'll give you Boogie and Staukus for Melo
You'd say no because Melo has taken us to the promise land
So Curry and Klay don't count
So Wall and Beal don't count
So Paul George doesn't count

Amar'e did put the team on his back and carried the Knicks to 54 wins. Never forget!
