Because he was injured, cmon come better then that. Im not defending him either, i couldn't careless weather he stay or goes. But don't sit up there and say his 5 yrs was worthless..

His 5 years were nearly worthless and he's contributed little more to this franchise than eddy curry. That is my opinion.

well if he's been worthless so has everyone that's played with him since he got here, there certainly would be no melo, no tyson, no kidd, no rasheed, no KT and 54 win 2nd rnd season. Because each and everyone of them said the sign on because of amare.

If melo didn't sign, just think, gallo and chandler have been injury prone, felton had one good season, and mosgov was a project. we would have been in the lottery the last 4 seasons, and lets name some of the draft picks that have taked their team to the playoffs.....wake me up when figure them out

Amar'e did put the team on his back and carried the Knicks to 54 wins. Never forget!

Please God no. Do not resign Amare under any circumstances.

and don't forget, Amare has bulletproof knees again. In every way, shape and form, he is not a day older than 19 years. He said so himself.

yes No insurance AND A NO TRADE CLAUS!!

Does Amare have any not very skilled family member who the Knicks can gurantee a spot on the roster? Besides giving him a second preposterous contract We might as well show as much appreciation as possible for all the success he has brought the Knicks. Such as the thrilling victory in the heavyweight bout versus Freddy "The Fire Extinguisher" McGee down at the United Airlines Arena in Miami! Now that was a classic!

Sounds like the team fortunes are due to Melo not Amare. But for the record Sheed signed on because Woody asked him, Kidd signed on to mentor Lin. Kurt was traded to the Knicks with Felton dont think he had any say on that. melo has revealed his true colors for why he's in NY, and why he stayed here...aind it aint because of Amare. Tyson made it clear his goal was to contend.

"It just really happened over the last, like, 48 hours," Chandler said on ESPN 103.3's "Ben and Skin Show" on Friday. "I just think the future of the team, being able to play alongside Amare Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony and the young talent that we have, I feel like puts us in contention over the next four or five years."

Tyson and Kidd both came for the money, and I doubt sheed and KT give two shits about Amare, true leaders like these guys take one look at Amare's defense and identify him as the pretender he really is. Amare didn't recruit anyone and didn't "bring the Knicks back". Melo didn't care about playing with Amare, he wanted NY.

Bell no. Do not re-sign Amare.

Exactly. This dude is not the type of bigs we need.

Its important to keep as many "productive" players as we can during the purge. Anyone can break his cahones--hes solid every game. Hes not a C and gets graded by D as one. But he is a tough solid post player who scores and rebounds plays very very hard. Id like to keep him--I really do not think he is a down piece hes just paid way too much for 20 minutes.

Seriously? You real name must be Amare::::)))

You think everybody signs to NY for the Money, If that was the case we would always have a allstar line up

Anthony, for his part, was excited by Chandler's addition.

I can go research and pull up every quote in which one of the players I mention, stated Amare being here as a factor in them coming. Kidd definitely didn't come for no money because dallas and san an offered him more.

I never said he recruited, but i find it hilarious the way you guys bash amare every chance you get, and all you ever say is his defense is suspect. It's like saying labron sucks because his jump shot is suspect..And no im not comparing the two, but if you don't like LBJ (like my best frnd) you will find every single flaw and harp on it.

Every Person that I encounter that doesn't like Labron, thinks he's avg and not even in the same sentence with MJ..Thats how haters sound.

If he remains healthy...14 mil over 2 yrs with a team option on the 3rd yr...
WaltLongmire @ 11/24/2014 9:38 PM
Pretty sure we can use the "mid-wine" exception to sign him next year.

Dolan has also expressed an interest making wine-bath therapy an option in MSG's luxury box packages, so Amare is a perfect spokesman for this venture.

I thought this thread was a level when I first read it but after watching that shambles of a performance from him tonight it was very clearly an excellent example of trolling. Stoudemire signifies everything wrong with the franchise.
Splat @ 11/26/2014 11:12 PM

I think Briggs may make habit of starting threads

Based on epiphanies and prisoner of the moment

I would not be so fast to throw Amare in the gutter. The Amare we saw tonight--the last 88 games or so--that will NOT be easy to replace. I do not see him playing "stupid". Hes a guy who has played at a disadvantage because of minute restrictions yet you can see what he can do with more rhythm and reps. It is HARD to replace big men--quality big men and whoever says Amare is not quality--is simply wrong. He's a very good player who plays hard 110% of the time. We need new bigs--yes absolutely but I think we will need Amare as well for the next 2-3 years. We have major problems at guard and center bt if we can get a work man like effort with good D 188-9 55% from the PF position--its a no brainer to keep him. We got rid of Tyson Chandler and we can talk sht about him--Im not usre if he wasnt hurt half the year--but the minute we got rid of him--we were worse no questions asked. Maybe hes just a better fit in dallas--who knows--not our concern anymore. But replacing Amare wont be easy--so I think we should keep him at an acceptable rate. NO one will pay him more than 5mm tops.
Splat @ 12/2/2014 11:04 PM
Re-sign Amare and trade for Kobe and we're golden.

I'd agree with that signing$. Look Stout Defense always never going to be consistent & NBA level
However Stout scoring and rebounds/game are up , good off the glass.

He is determined

Amare deserves another monster contract. I mean the guy is seriously struggling, that gold he's wearing tonight is fucking small time.
