We are in desperate need for a potent SG that can defend/score/rebound/and pass the ball. Stephenson is that dude. He is a homegrown talent, whom I believe would flourish playing for the Knicks. His contract is very affordable and I don't believe he is too happy sharing the backcourt with a ball dominant guard like Kamba. A trade of Amare and Shump for Stephenson and bismak byambo + a pick would be good for both teams.
I've posted before- if available I think there's a chance the hornets would do Shump and JR for him

Shump and JR? dude, that's a tall order. The Knicks should do this deal immediately.

Hornets need scoring and outside of this system, that's one thing JR can do. Their coach might like Shump due to his defense reputation. Also allows them to get out of Lances contract. I like Lance, but he's still a risk chemistry wise, also his advance stats aren't meant to be particularly good (not that I understand such things!). If we did get him, it eats away into our FA money, so again it's a risk.

Their lack of production is at the front Kurt when Big Al needs a rest. That's why I proposed to give them Amare. If there is one thing Amare does ok at, it is scoring.
I doubt the Hornets are taking our crap for Stephenson. Generally GM's don't do trades where they give up the best player in the group by several country miles. JR and Amare and Shump minuscule value around the NBA. It's a sad fact.
Lance is a knucklehead but he's talented and his contract isn't even that bad aka the hornets could get back much better players than our flotsam.
Kamba and Lance will never work, because they both require to have the ball to be effective. The coach is having a very hard time figuring what to do with a talented player of Lance's caliber, but I don't believe Lance is happy watching Kamba constantly over dribbling. It is in their best advantage to trade him, but I don't see another team other then the Knicks that might have the type of assets needed. In NY, you can at least pair him with Calderon who can catch and shoot, but does not really dominate the ball as a PG.

Papabear Says
Warning Warning I thought the Hornets just got Stevenson. Why would they be so quick tho get rid of him? I think Stevenson is a head case worse than Shump and JR.

Are you kidding, that dude has been benched in the 4th quarter of several games..don't discredit jr and shump because they're not excelling in this system.
Lance can come here an easily become a non penetrating jump shooter like jr and shump.

Headcase or not, his ceiling is higher then both players combined.

If that is the case why would the Hornets want to get rid of him?

Because they probably want to salvage the chemistry that existed amongst them last season. They won a lot of games and went to the playoffs for the first time in a long while. They can make due with Amare as Jefferson's backup and use Shump in the back court with Kamba

Yeah, but they probably want to be better than the 43 win team they were last season.
Phill needs to go at Michael very strong and still Lance away from him. He could be the star here in NY.
this is a great trade idea.
sign me up.
knicks need some Lance crazy and grit and Phil tends to like having a bit of a head case on his roster.
That's a disaster waiting to happen. I would stay away from Lance. Bad combo to have home town players on the Knicks. Has it really ever worked out? Bernard king is the only one that thrived in that role. I don't see it with Lance I see trouble in NY for him.

Vaseline, meet Lance. Lance, meet Vaseline.
I kind of forgot how completely unhinged Stephon had become. This is one hell of a clip:
Lance is not as crazy as advertised. Besides, Phil thrives with these type of players (Odom, rodman).
