You were the one who said Lance isn't as crazy as advertised; I'm just providing evidence that he is.

He was young and derange. He still is young. Maturity comes with age and good exposure. We should all learn to forgive and forget.

Lol, what? There are plenty of young people who somehow manage to not throw people down flights of stairs. And it's more than just that, there's a reason that only two teams tried to sign him this Summer and his existing team only barely.
The Knicks never learn. Nor do many of its fans. Stevenson is not a leader. Bringing him here now to play with Melo could be the ultimate powder keg. The New York Knicks does not cure crazy, the New York Knicks amps it up.
Amazing how people are so easily swayed by desperation that they forget the character factor once again. Putting Lance into an environment with a complete void of veteran leadership is the perfect recipe for disaster.
I don't think Phil is that stupid.

Agree just take one look at Charlotte's record--they got WORSE with Lance. Lance was in a position where his skills and character meshed with what was around him. Do the NY knicks seem like a team ready for Lance? The core basis of the Knicks culture needs change. Unless 2 absolute premium FAs came here--there is NO quick fix.
Someone take a strong look at Milwaukee's line up. Certainly not a great team now but they have completely ripped apart the old culture there and have multitude's of young players who will fit a core that will win for the next 10 years. From the coach to the owners and players--everything new. It hasnt happened over night and unless we catch luck of the Gods either will we. Luck of our Gods is a top 3 pick getting lucky in FA THEN having other luck.

The Hornets don't suck because of Lance Stephenson. When you look at that roster, they are as poorly constructed as we are. The roster is filled with one way/one dimensional players including their franchise player. When you add to the fact that they suck at spacing the floor, are you surprised why they are among the league's worst?
That being said, there is no way in hell that they are giving up a pick to acquire players from us that are every bit as one dimensional. I just wish we had traded them assets before the season began for this year's pick. We would've been sitting pretty with two lottery selections in 2015.
I would still take a chance at Stephenson...he has a considerably cheap contract, and if it doesn't work out, we can always let him go in two years. His contract is only guaranteed for two years.

If we ditch JR in the process, I'd do it. They get our headache while we take their own. I think Stephenson might be an even bigger headcase than JR but he at least has a higher ceiling and can consistently make basketball plays. And as you said, he'd be off the books after next season, which would make the acquisition a low risk one. Maybe we might be able to resuscitate his trade value and parlay him into assets. I wouldn't want him to win games for us though; we need to continue tanking.

The Knicks have zero chance to get Stephenson in a trade. Zero.
His team has to consider that you can't just turn around a trade a player in his circumstances ( i.e. he's not a fringe acquisition ) right after they signed him. That's bad form for the organization, bad for dealing with his agent and future agents, bad for dealing with future free agents. Nothing good comes out of it.
Also there are simply better trade options than the Knicks if Rich Cho and Micheal Jordan decided that Stephenson had to absolutely leave.
New player, new system, needs time to adjust.
Stephenson will just have to eat bad press. He got into it with LBJ in the playoffs and sadly with the branding power of LBJ, and his association with Nike, etc, which as influence over the sports media, it was inevitable that Lance would take some bad press. This is like the kid who dunked on LBJ and James and his people got the tape confiscated.
Bynum was suspended and traded by the Cavs last year so it isn't like this sort of thing hasn't happened in the past. Not sure that the Hornets are giving up on Lance. Lance had bad press before the LBJ stuff in the playoffs. I think he is getting some bad press now because his coach called him out to the media not because of anything that happened last year in the playoffs.
Amare, prigioni and Shump for Stephenson, byombo and Neil
Hornets are looking for wing and PF upgrade. Not sure if Shump and or JR fits that bill.

They need a two guar that can defend and make shots. Plus they need a PF that can relieve Jefferson. Amare can still score the ball, which is enough.
Even though Lance is a knucklehead, I'd gladly take him for 2 knuckleheads (Shump & Chump jr)
I like his rebounding. He also plays with some intensity, even though sometimes he wigs out a bit.
