MJ and Kobe have different games / mindsets.

Im pretty sure two years ago when he was 3rd in MVP voting and we won 54 games the mindset was OK.

I 100000% agree though.

All we need is a HOF caliber bigman still in his prime and a shooting guard who is among the best ever, or at least as good as Jesus.

was Melo a willing passer in 54?

Melo has a sh1t team, we all know that. No excuse to not pass the ball.

It is an excuse to not win. How about he passes the ball and we lose? That would make me happier and would probably would untank us a bit (which may not be what we want)

He seemed to be passing a lot more (or at least willing too the first 10 games). The whole team seems to have mailed it in though. On the passing front, extremely low IQ guys in the backcourt. In the NO game for example there were multiple times where Shump or THJ completely disregarded mismatched on Melo or Amare in the low post. But hey...this team is bad, so not a huge surprise there is some terrible stuff on the court. I prefer this though. Teams that aren't that bad typically don't win the lottery.

you didn't really answer the question

lets just talk about the melo passing issue for a sec

I agree with you. If I were him, I woulda passed and let people miss then what can people really say, right? I do think he passed a lot more the first 10 games then abandoned the concept. There were passes and a willingness to do so and a LOT of misses. At this point, I agree, he should pass more. Either way, it would be pretty gross given the quality of play we get on the perimeter.

there is NO EXCUSE!

And, its not like the guy is shooting lights out. The guy is shooting like he is drunk.

Maybe we should say that the reason why Amare won't pass the damn ball is because Melo can't hit a damn shot.

But that's not happening. His teammates are hitting 47.6% of the shots on the rare occasions when he does pass. If the ball is in his hands, the best scoring option is for him to pass rather than shoot.

If you haven't figured it out by now, Fisher is assisting the tank. They pulled the plug on this season already. It is getting damn obvious.

And I responded to you talking about Melo. You invoked Kobe and MJ as if somehow that indicated Melo was willing and ready and able to play the Triangle. That's what you said.

So it is about Melo. Does he want to comply or not? It doesn't seem that way. So what was all that talk coming into the season about? It was hot air. Melo wants to play his way and his way only.

And that has everything to do with being coachable. So it is about Melo and Fish both.

+1 - He is certainly on board the tank.

I mean if people are going to bash Fisher, at least get your context right. Even if he struggled earlier, his actions now are not going to produce any meaningful analysis of his ability to coach a winning team.

Right now, Fisher has become a tank commander. With Phil's blessing of course. Even Guitar Jimmy has to get the obvious need for this.

I'm not really gonna over analyse a tank job where the players, coaching staff, and ownership have mailed it in. However to answer your point. Sure he could pass move. I don't personally think it would help since we lost those games too. However, at a minimum nobody would be able to complain if he passed more. Is that a valid answer?

Nobody on this team plays like that Melo included. Obviously you are very upset. Too bad most the players in the league don't even play with that type of passion anymore.

Soooooooooooo ..... most players in the National Basketball Association don't play basketball with any passion?

OK then we should just give up now and forget about finding players who give a crap.
