Knicks · Fisher looks scared... (page 1)

I can't remember a coach not remembering which player is hot and not getting him back int he game as soon as he looks rested...We see it all the time with Fisher who seems to forget guys on the bench...He will pull a guy who is also on fire...He will play Melo with 4 others guys who is offensively challenged..Double, triple teams come and we are back to the last three years of basketball here in NY..I think Fisher is a smart dude but the spotlight might be just too big for him...25 mil is hard to say no to...He looks over match and scared...I hope he finds himself on the sidelines because right now, he looks lost...

People complained that hew as playing Melo too many minutes, then they complained when he didn't put Melo in at the start of the 4th last night. They complained he didn't put Prigs in for defensive purposes on the last possession, then the next game he did and the PG blew by him to score the winning layup. Everyone on this team is streaky and one dimensional, except for Amar'e, they can't execute, they can't rebound- you can't coach this team. Put the hot guy in, and they'll turn to trash in seconds. There's no winning combination Fish is overlooking, because every game every player seems to randomly shoot well or like trash.

give the guy TIME. he's a rookie head coach who was just playing in the league LAST YEAR. plus, he's not used to losing, since he only ever played on winning teams. this is probably frustrating as hell for him. fisher is a very smart, astute basketball mind, he'll figure out, it's not like we're a top team looking to make noise this year, this is a learning year for him and that's 100% ok. by this time next year, i expect most people here to be hanging from his nuts on his coaching acumen.

Yeah, when I started my job it took me a year to get comfortable, and another year to get pretty good (sometimes!). It's a process- there's always anxiety and over thinking to start with as you're trying not to mess up, then with time you get a better feel for things and trust your gut. Unfortunately you have to make mistakes to learn from them- messing up is a way better teacher than actual teaching.

Right now he is trying to be Mr. nice guy, and he will never succeed with this roster. Until he can find the balls to demand a hell of a lot more from Carmelo, he will never earn the respect of the other players. He has the backing of Phil, I don't know why he does not use it to instill his handprint to this team.

That was what I thought going into the season. Fish has the juice. I thought he'd use it. Nope. Squish goes the fish!

He will eventually

how hard is it to tell your team to stop shooting fkng jump shots every possession..the rotation is a joke on ever national pregame show, and breen, and frazier are always scratching their heads..why play a player for 4 minutes of a game in the 2nd half only.

Thats why I think we're tanking- it's a tanking rotation (Like I said, reminiscent of Larry Brown). If not- yikes! But I'm sure he'll have a better feel for rotations by the end of the season- plus this crew are hard to fathom out a rotation with.

I think that looks from seeing how bad a team player Melo is and he is wondering how the hell is he going to make it work when other coaches could not.

you think phill will have the balls to fire this guy, after hand picking him? that would mean he made a major blunder in hiring him..

Sometimes you got to admit when you're wrong, and move on.

djsunyc @ 12/11/2014 11:04 AM
at the end of the day, phil is looking at the knicks like an experiment...to see if he can actually be an exec. and he got dolan to give him $12/year to play in the sandbox. fisher...there was no reason whatsoever to hire fisher. not when you have melo on the roster and are expecting to sign FA's next year. having an unproven coach (who actually said he didn't think about being a coach until phil approached him) is a waste of time. if you really wanted to put together a roster to try and win within the next year, then you need a coach that can actually teach and has the respect and more importantly, has experience. unfortunately, phil is so locked into the triangle that he can't find any good coach willing to do it full time. hiring fisher was a dumb move for this franchise. and giving him 5 years $25 mil was even dumber. but at least that doesn't count towards the cap.

season is lost - just pray that phil drafts the right guy.

dude the roster is no where as bad as our record, thats been establish through out the league already, it's a subtle way of saying for the guy has no clue. His advantage of the rest is that he had a great relationship with today's players, and was respected as a leader. That has nothing to d with X/O, making adjustment, and knowing who to play and when. thats not going to happen over night, or with in 5 yrs.

You think fisher will develop any player we draft, do you see anything remotely close to development with ant player on the roster, not one..
