Give me one reason why you would want to trade for a 5'11" SG in Lawson
I disagree wholeheartedly with you. Barkley too was an undersized PF, but his smarts and ability to outwork others tour ex him into one of the greats to ever play the game.
Giving Faried does not require coaches to call plays for him makes him the ideal player to put next to Carmelo. He rebounds at both ends of the court and is the ENERGY the Lowenergy Carmelo needs to be great. You simply would require to have a true CENTER on the court to complement both players. The dude does not hold the ball on offense; he moves it because he knows his strength.
Draft a true center, play both Carmelo and Faried and have shooters in the back court.
I can't believe I am saying this, I am ready for the end if the season.
He was a draft night mistake. The Knicks should have known that Shump was the player he was at Georgia Tech and not the freak that he appeared to be in individual work outs. He isn't worth his contract in my opinion. Similar to missing out on many good points in the Hill draft, several franchise pivots in the Gallo draft or Rondo in the Balk draft, the Knicks messed up.

Bad karma
Varied is good, but his defense is suspect. Wouldn't mind him, but we'd still need a decent pivot.
17 points and 19 rebounds tonight

We had Amare & Melo. We we not looking to draft a PF. Guard was a major weakness. We lacked a perimeter defender

Faried was a hot name on this board. Shump was supposed to go second round before individual workouts. D'Antoni loved him. Walsh went with his coach every draft. It didn't turn out to well.

They were picking between Shumpert and Chris Singleton.
A lot of teams passed on Faried not just NY

Yeah. Singleton hasn't panned out but Shump was D'Antoni's call. He said he had never seen an individual workout as good as Shumps.
yea I they showed the war room where Walsh left it to Dantoni to choose between Shump or Singleton.
Amare was coming off an mvp caliber year and they had Melo. Faried was not on their radar with that pick.

He also picked Hill and Gallo. Lopez and any of the points in the Hill draft sets the Knicks up at the one and five for the next 8-10 years.

The curse of D'Antony is crippling two historic franchises thus far (KNICKS & LAKERS). I don't what teams saw in that dude to hire him as a head coach. 3 seconds or less? Run and Gun has ever won championship.
